If Seattle won't allow the raiders to let the o-line coach do a lateral i think he should be the oc and find a different qb coach if needed. We really need a good oline coach

I think OC’s matter when the HC is calling the plays because the HC is so spread out(as earlier poster mentioned) during the week and it also helps that they are close…they sit down all week and bounce ideas off each other in regards to that weeks game plan.Kubiak must think he’s important if he has been with him in a couple stops already.

I've never been so excited for a Monday, let alone the Monday the NFL season ends.
Wonder how quickly we hear news regarding the coordinators. I'm curious how quickly they can line up interviews and make a decision

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

And I've read that we're thinking of hiring Mendoza's college QB coach for the same position here. A quality QB coach will be key in helping Mendoza learn the new offense.

One thing to keep in mind is that when Seattle hires another oc, some of those assistant coaches might be let go as the new oc will want his own staff. so if Kubiak wants to poach some of the old Seattle coaches, he may wait a few days and/or he won't have to creative with job titles

Yeah, things got tight towards the end with Al.Goodtimes333 wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 1:44 pm Remember the days when the Raiders had to scrounge up spare change from under the coach to pay a head coach? Let alone assistants. Glad those days are gone. Bowl Cut can pay up for the assistants too. A general needs his lieutenants and captains

The OC who is not a play caller still assists at putting the game pan together, they are like the right hand man of the head coach. In this case Janocko is also the QB coach so he would have significant impact on Mendoza’s development.Be_Easy_25 wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 1:07 pm Does the OC matter for the Kubiaks, McVays, Shanahans, and Ben Johnsons of the world?
To what extent does it matter?
Looks like there was some consternation in KC over the OC the last few years.
Asking in earnest.

Exactly. The OC is a huge role. Just because you don't make the calls on game day you are an integral part of the O.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 10:26 pm The OC who is not a play caller still assists at putting the game pan together, they are like the right hand man of the head coach.
