Spytek going outside is RAS comfort zone for Dalton Johnson tells us they scouted and watched so much of Stukes, but couldn't help noticing Johnson flashing so much they had to have him too.

Raw Athletic Score. Most our picks are absolute athletic freaks, Spytek definitely has a type, but this guy is an outlier, just an average athlete (as far as safety’s go).

I like that him and Stukes will have that unspoken communicative ability that only comes from playing together.

Dalton Johnson is a versatile defensive back who played five seasons for the Arizona Wildcats (2021–2025)

Positions and Versatility
Known as a "defensive rockstar," Johnson demonstrated extreme versatility in Arizona’s scheme, frequently moving between three roles:

Strong Safety: His primary position where he was a multi-year starter.

"B Kat" Safety: A specific "box safety" role in coordinator Danny Gonzales' scheme that allowed him to play near the line of scrimmage to defend the run.

Hybrid Linebacker: During the 2024 season, he moved into a hybrid role to fill gaps left by team injuries, which helped him lead the team in tackles that year.

2025 Senior Season Highlights
Johnson’s final year in Tucson was his most decorated, earning him First-Team All-Big 12 honors from both the conference and the Associated Press.

Team Leader: Led Arizona in tackles for the second consecutive season with 97 total stops.

Turnover Machine: Tied for the team lead with 4 interceptions and recorded 7 pass breakups and one forced fumble.

Single-Game Career High: Logged 18 tackles in a victory over Baylor, the most by an Arizona player in over a decade.

Professional Outlook
After clocking a 4.41-second 40-yard dash at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, Johnson was drafted to reunite with his college secondary teammate, Treydan Stukes, in Las Vegas

CBS has a story today titled, "Each Team's Most Questionable or Draft-Day Reach." For us, he says:

"S Dalton Johnson, Arizona (Round 5, No. 150 overall)
The secondary has been a problem in Las Vegas for years. It is easy to envision a starting cornerback group with Jermod McCoy, Hezekiah Masses and Treydan Stukes. The hope is that Johnson can be an answer at safety, but the value was not where they took him."

I like the pick -- so there.

Someone pointed out former college teammates on the Raiders, the Georgia LBs and now the Arizona safety. One of the UDFA LB teamed up with Dean and Quay at Georgia as well....not sure if it is a Spytek thing or coincidence.
