Not to worry links preserved and sceen shots so he can do the usual this fall:

“I never said we would be horrible”
“I never said this draft was horrible”
“I never said we’d win five games”

Etc.

It’s one of the seasonal rituals on revolving around the draft in the site.

I was a bit confused by the Stukes pick. I'm not/wasn't mad about it... just confused because there were others still on the board that were general consensus picks of need that were probably day 1 starters.

Having thought about it for a while, I actually think it was a pretty good pick. This team has struggled with the secondary for so long. It will be good to see a guy that could possibly be an all-pro/star playing for us in the secondary. With QB's like Mahomes, Herbert and Nix to face twice a year, this guy could be a game changer for us.

I'm going to trust this management/coaching staff in so far as they are a damn sight smarter/knowledgable than me... and most of us on this "fan" forum.

I don't follow college football so don't hold opinions about players before the draft.

Looks like we got guys who can really play and have outstanding athletic attributes. The only head scratcher to me is Crawford. We have a lot of needs throughout the team but edge doesn't appear to be urgent. Wonder if there is something going on with Crosby?

I think it's more to do with the future, seeing as Snowden and Koontz are on one year deals.

Attyla wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 3:56 am FYI the Zuhn pick was genius. The guy can play anywhere on the line. He will be a guard for us, but he can play tackle and center. So this is not only a good move for the team, it is one that allows us to focus the rest of the draft on defense, primarily a NT and a DT and maybe a late receiver. There are still 4 picks we have that could get us a starter or two and a couple spot starters.
With his ridiculous pass block grade we'll all feel better if Miller misses time.. and can the 6'7" Zuhn play RT? Just saying

Safety/secondary might've been the biggest need after qb. Stakes will kick Mao off of the field and to ST only, where he belongs. He's a modern day safety that's versatile and can play. He shouldn't have a problem beating out Mao so he's a day 1 starter.

I really like the picks so far. A versatile secondary player, an olineman that can play along the whole oline in a pinch and will be legit competition at a guard spot right away and a good pass rusher that can take over next year after Koonce/Snowden leave, while getting some experience this year

100%
Don't forget that Spytek said he wants to set this team up for sustained success. That means looking to the future with some draft picks too

I see the draft as a no lose sitch simply by drafting Mendoza.
If he's who everyone (except Orlovski) thinks he is, it's an A+ draft due to position.
If the Chiefs only got Mahomes in their draft, it was a A+ and that is with giving up their first the following year.
All we gave up was slaughtering Geno.

Unfortunately that sounds good but it's not true. Bc Mendoza will look like Geno if we dont hit on the rest of the drafts while he's here.

True in that the OL needs to be good. But from there, we have solid skill position talent.
But we drafted thee talent of the draft.

With the new oline draftee I'm happy with the line. Wouldn't mind getting the Ol mis tackle (Diego Pounds) in the 6th round though.

The team has addressed the linebacker and DE as well as the defensive back field. The guy from Buffalo is a game changer.

They just need to nail the interior defensive line.

A receiver would be nice too.

He did a few reps at RT last year, not much. Hard to say if he can play the right side. But they have intentions of moving him inside was what I gathered. Hell, when they announced him, they called him a guard.

I'm not there yet with the O line. Now, if they come out and say they think Zuhn will play RT and excel at it, I'd feel more comfortable. I just think the uncertainty at 40% of the line has me slightly concerned.

A lot of “quit your bitching” replies to those of us who called yesterday a head scratcher, so let me stand on it real quick:

Go look at the Round 2 and Round 3 betting threads. How many people had Stukes or Keyron? Boy, Attyla is a rich man today, at least in fake dollars.

Don’t get me wrong, I actually liked Stukes during the predraft process, but with both Boston & Kayden on the board when we originally picked, I don’t think many would’ve guessed we would choose Stukes.

Doesn’t mean it’s the wrong choice, and on Spy’s board we may have gotten great value. And it was nice to convert a 4th into a 3rd.

But let’s not act like it’s unreasonable to call the picks unconventional, and the fact that you cannot find one person who chose Stukes as their Day 2 prediction gives at least anecdotal support to that idea

Mahomes by himself would not have been a homerun. They also got Hunt in that draft, and were a playoff caliber team prior. So Patrick would not have had the success they gave him in a foundational team.

Mendoza was a no brainer but we have got to keep him upright and we have to win the time of possession to be successful. That means the defense has got to improve and we have got to keep teams honest by being balanced on offense. Mendoza cannot do that by himself. I love getting him and we are almost certainly going to put Orlovski out of business, but that means build build build and when it is built, build it some more.
