Don’t talk about the discount GMs on the site like that.Marzan wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 7:54 pm The karmic energy needed to get Mendoza sucked the energy out of everything else.
And as usual, we’re always trying to be smarter than everyone else

Well we have drafted players around the consensus, we have draft players to fit the scheme, we have drafted players to fit needs & the sky is still falling downMarzan wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 1:34 am Can you honestly say that we draft well? When I see perennial contenders like the Eagles draft, they always seem to take the most common sense pick or a downright steal in accordance with what most publicly available quality big boards say. We rarely if ever do that.
Don’t get me wrong, no matter what we do this will be a good draft because we got Mendoza but I’m not impressed by the other players we got at the positions we got them.
And all the ‘good’ DT’s and WR’s are gone.
If we using media boards to rate how good a player is why all of a sudden when we draft player around where they were projected to go are we all of a sudden throwing that logic out the window
Let’s take Pregnon as an example of people bad logic, has slow to average feet which wouldn't work with what Kubiak & Dennison want to work with in the OL, everyone wants to take a Pregnon who doesn't fit there profile but Zuhn who fit everything they like about OL is proclaimed a bad pick the math doesnt math
Stukes, Crawford & Zuhn are not who i wanted but i can still see how they may be good pick for us unlike idiots going around calling them busts
WR was never the need you all made it out to be especially when we have been told we’re in rebuild mode & it may take a few years to get the whole organisation turned around
As for NT they are still good enough ones around

You're probably right and I'm wrong. I just don't see it, and with some of these picks I get the same feeling I get from almost every draft other than 2014. Of course, I'm not a scout and what do I know, right?'CWood24 wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 3:00 am Well we have drafted players around the consensus, we have draft players to fit the scheme, we have drafted players to fit needs & the sky is still falling down

And for the record, I don't think being sceptical of the draft on day 2 is the same as "the sky is falling down" Why does any critique of an action taken by the team have to be seen as an absolute negative? I like Spytek well enough and he's had an excellent offseason so far and handled our HC hiring and FA beatutifully. Kudos to him.

If/when you have the time, go back to where last night's draft first began and read the comments...I realize that's a lot of reading but there were several over the top "chicken little" moments and some bruised egos as well.Marzan wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 3:28 am You're probably right and I'm wrong. I’m surprised you didn’t rate it a bit higher seeing as Mendoza has Aiden in the Qb room to help mentor and bring him along.mranquales wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 8:42 pm Draft is a D- so far, and that's only because we grabbed Mendoza.
I’m going to take the stance that just because I don’t know much, if anything, about a player we drafted, doesn’t mean they’re not worth the pick and don’t fit a plan or scheme for us. I’m going to fully admit I get confused by all the pre-draft placements because they seem to be all over the board depending on what site you’re reading. At the end of the day, they were on our radar because someone spent an awful lot of time going over tape and thought highly enough to turn the card in with their name on it.
Remaining hopeful until proven otherwise.

I would have gone another direction with our 2rd but our thirds were great picks.
And I think this draft is reflective of the Leonard hire. He took the job fully with the understanding that he needed football players and so far they are delivering to him a few really good players. Yea, I did not want a safety but DT today will happen. We moved around a bit to get where we are at and we have improved the roster so far.

FYI the Zuhn pick was genius. The guy can play anywhere on the line. He will be a guard for us, but he can play tackle and center. So this is not only a good move for the team, it is one that allows us to focus the rest of the draft on defense, primarily a NT and a DT and maybe a late receiver. There are still 4 picks we have that could get us a starter or two and a couple spot starters.

A draft grade from that guy is about a joke.Viper wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 3:40 am I’m surprised you didn’t rate it a bit higher seeing as Mendoza has Aiden in the Qb room to help mentor and bring him along.

The Zuhn pick caught me by surprise but when you look at what he does & what Kubiak/Dennison do he might be THE most perfect pick you could have madeAttyla wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 3:56 am FYI the Zuhn pick was genius. I’m hoping for Dontay Corleone today i know there are possible weight & conditioning issue but if you can stay on him & get him motivated he has a lot of good qualities to be a good NT in the NFL

Big time school and he still graded out high. His run blocking is not great when asked to get to the second level, but at the point of attack he is solid. Where he shines is pass blocking where at Center he was outstanding.CWood24 wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 4:15 am The Zuhn pick caught me by surprise but when you look at what he does & what Kubiak/Dennison do he might be THE most perfect pick you could have made

I can get down with the Zuhn pick bc as I said, an O lineman was a necessity in the first 3 rounds. I assume he will play guard and backup center. Hope he gets on the field sooner than later.

....yeah, I like having a pair of 4th rounders and have to think the nose, d tackle positions will be targeted with at least one of those.Attyla wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 3:56 am FYI the Zuhn pick was genius.
