We didn't give up McDonald. Reports were we were going to pick Stukes with our 2nd even before we traded back. So we traded back and got the player we were going to pick anyway. So it was a good move in that respect.BoKnows81 wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 7:04 pm Not knocking the player at all. In my opinion, we gave up a blue chip player in McDonald for a DB and then with the pick at got from the trade, draft a special teams/ edge rusher with the almighty "potential" designation.
I didn't know anything about either of these guys, but 1 thing for sure. We are adding speed and athleticism. Crawford also is said to have a great work ethic and is relentless. I'm not as down on them as I was at first.

True…but fit matters as much or more as rating does, and I am not sure a rotational edge rusher fits us as well as other available players. He may well be a Koonce replacement…but then why did we just pay Koonce the money we did?DanKD wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 7:06 pm Crawford was 67-75 overall on Mcshay, Kiper and Jeremiah boards. Hes not a reach at all. May not be the guy we wanted or knew but not a reach.

Obviously one of the biggest things we are not privy to is what Kubiak thinks of the young guys we already have. It seems they think Grant, Rogers, Bech and Thornton could develop.
We still dont have much at DT though even young guys to develop.

Spy did say he wasn't looking to be a win right now and fizzle out team. He wanted to build to become a contender for years to come instead of a splash in the pan. So taking a player a year early to learn makes sense

Crawford is Spytek replacing Chaisson. Should have never let him walk out the door.

Probably could chalk that up to the offseason cycle. Can’t know you have his replacement before the draft.Deejgoettel wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 7:11 pm True…but fit matters as much or more as rating does, and I am not sure a rotational edge rusher fits us as well as other available players. before the injury koonce was becoming a terror off the edge but after he has sucked and not shown explosion or bend, i was surprised we brought him back for a 1 yr dealKillerRaider30 wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 7:14 pm Who knows he may beat out Koonce this year. Koonce basically sucks.

I’ll never understand why fans think they know more than the people employed by the teams. None of us know all the information or the specific reasons a player is or isn’t drafted. I wish I could see all the opinions on the Crosby pick. We have all pretty much agreed that we have a stable F0 now and we killed FA, but now no one knows what they are doing? The draft is a crapshoot. Only pick I was worried about f[raiders_icon]cking up was #1.

That was my first thought watching the highlights. Crawford looks bigger by about 15, but the twitch and lean made me think of Chaisson.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote: Fri Apr 24, 2026 7:15 pm Crawford is Spytek replacing Chaisson. Should have never let him walk out the door.
