2026 Defense thread

This defense doesn't have much talent at all especially after the Maxx trade. 1st time Def Coach Rob Leonard really doesn't haven't much to work with but that should change.

Are we leading with Wilson & Chinn?

Figure the Raiders might draft 1 or 2 defensive players within the 4 picks they have in the top of the draft that might be day one starters. Looks like overall though this defense is going to be built through free agency.

Definitely a 1st round wasted pick. Not even close!

He has a chance to turn it around as a 3-4 DE ptrobably where he should have been played in the NFL, he skillset lines up nicely in a 3-4

unfortunately, I dont think we can afford to use our 2nd or 3rd pick on a NT. We need to prioritize the OL with a ROT in the 2nd and an OG in the 3rd. Corleone would be available in the 4th. Anyone in on him?

I disagree. I think we have the makings of a great O line without 2 draft picks. Miller, Meredith, Lnderbaum, JPJ, Glaze is a B- line. We have a lot of young bodies on the roster, I think with good coaching we are close. Sign a second tier OT in FA and we good. Draft should be for a DT. Then BPA

A good NT is crucial to a 3-4 defence for me it is as important to the defence as a good C is to an offence

IOL for me is of the one positions where starters can be had in the mids rounds so hopefully with those 5 picks we have in the 2nd through 4th we can add talent in the trenches

I’d be ok with Grant being given the shot at RT he showed some promise at the end of the season when he was given a chance

With Vega, it would have been an A- line.

Man I wish we didn’t draft Wilson.

They mishandled him. He should have been moved to DT. Then again he would also be a good fit as a 3-4 end. I wish he didn't lose that 10 lbs. Gaining 10 pounds would've been better.

I don’t see how Wilson or Paye fit in a 3-4 D. They are both to small to play DE and not athletic enough to play OLB. I guess they could play DE on obvious passing downs. I think both of their natural poison is DE in a 4-3. Maybe it doesn’t matter as we will still run plenty of 4 man fronts.

I'm just saying Meredith at his natural guard position and Linderbaum at center alone improves the line dramatically.

Meredith is not a bad player. He's average at best. It's Glaze I'm concerned about. He allowed 10 sacks last year.

Glaze will be fine as a Guard. Hoping Miller or the kid from Arizona will be available at pick 2.36 is not a wise move. Besides, there’s a chance McDonakd or Hunter can be had with that pick. We need a new starting RT before the draft.

Not on the roster yet, this is a huge need for us currently. Kwitty is strong enough to play DE in a 3-4, but we still need two big NT/DT types.

As for right tackle Blake Miller has played the position during his entire time in college and his known to be very durable. There's a chance he might even fall to the 3rd round as he is rated as the no. six tackle in the draft by walterfootball.

Tackles are in need the top 10 will probably all be gone by the 3rd. If we want someone who could potentially play right away it will likely be our 2nd round pick

Miller will probably go between 20-32, hopefully he’ll be there at 36, but most likely not. Dunker won’t even make it to the 3rd Rd.
