Thorton sucks!!! He doesn't belong out there on the field. Bech is the one who should step up and replace him. However, they now have Tyler Locket and they're putting their money on an old player.

no there are not. You keep claiming this and how Jakobi is the reason Jeanty does not have TDs repeatedly. I call that bullshit. You find the tape to support this or just shut the hell up claiming someone is purposefully missing blocks.mranquales wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 12:08 pm Blocking is what he excelled at; the "sure handed" reputation was exclusive to last season on the Raiders. This season it looked to me like Meyers was half assing it when it came to blocking.
Multiple runs against the Jags, Jeanty would get to the second level, and Meyers would wiff and allow his man to stop Jeanty in his tracks. Go back and watch and see for yourself. Meyer's man is the one that makes the tackle.
The Jeanty run up the middle against the Patriots goes for a touchdown if not for Meyers whiffing on his block.
Jeanty had a run to the left against the Chargers that goes for a touchdown if not for Meyers with a lazy block.
There are many, many examples of Meyers purposely whiffing on blocks on Jeanty runs.

Yep, that's the WR room now.Jeevo wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 1:13 pm Tucker, Bech, Lockett, Thornton Jr and Bachman, is that right? Has to be the worst in the league, and if not for Bowers ...

A little more about the compensation. Looks like we will get the highest of the two 4th round picks Jacksonville owns (they also have Minnesota’s).The sixth round pick will be the one slotted fir the Jets that The Jags acquired earlier from NY. That ought to be pretty good!

Whiffing on blocks is not the same as not blocking for AJ on purpose. Everyone whiffs on blocks and for sure Meyers has some.
I did a quick google search and found some but there is effort put forth from my point of view.
Meyers was a disgruntled employee that went to work as a professional. You or anyone else would be hard pressed to find any negative feedback on him.
Seems we got good compensation for him considering he was always gonna be gone at the end of the season.

The Saints got a better return for a worse receiver in Shaheed. But I knew we would never get a 3rd like many were thinking for Jakobi so whatever.

Bowers and Mayer line up outside in some formations, so they’ll act like WR’s in certain sets.Jeevo wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 1:13 pm Tucker, Bech, Lockett, Thornton Jr and Bachman, is that right? Has to be the worst in the league, and if not for Bowers ...

I was not a fan of the Bech pick from jump. One good year at WR and a so so year as a freshman TE. Same with Thornton. He’s all pomp no circumstance, looks like Tarzan plays like Jane.

I wasn't a fan of the pick but I was a fan of the player and I still am. Unfortunately we needed to take a guard there. I was even less a fan of the pick when we took a WR a couple rounds later. But in no way did "he's a college white boy" cross my mind.Oaktown Superman wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 5:12 pm I was not a fan of the Bech pick from jump. I’m not a fan of the pick or player. I may end up with egg on my face, but I find him quite underwhelming. If he’s all that and a bag of chips, he’d had better production to go along with all the hoopla.BoKnows81 wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 5:16 pm I wasn't a fan of the pick but I was a fan of the player and I still am. Bech must really suck in practice to not even be considered ready to start. Maybe hes a bonehead that cant learn the playbook.Corleone wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 12:32 pm Everyone: so I guess this means we’ll get to see Bech get some reps!
