Late round QBs? Yes please.

No position on he field matters more. Whether he busts of becomes a backup he is one half of what I want to see us doing: churning the position until we have a starter and/or super star.

Will it be him? Odd say most likely not. However, should he be the guy? If not we should be looking at drafting a QB early and one late, perhaps even after we hit.

This year we had so many holes I can almost give a pass for not drafting one earlier but want to see this trend continue.

Opted for this QB over Sanders? Drafting lesser talent is not the way to build your roster.

I don't blame them. As I said earlier, I don't hate the kid. I just don't want what could come with drafting him. If we could be guaranteed he would be an elite QB.... sure, take what comes with it.... if anything actually does come with it. He plumeted in the draft because of what was/is perceived to come with him... right or wrong.
Opted for this QB over Sanders? Drafting lesser talent is not the way to build your roster.
Five quarterbacks were selected before he was. Every team in the league, many of which were quarterback starved teams passed over him multiple times including his new team who passed over him six times before finally drafting him. And one of those previous selections was a quarterback.

I was surprised by how good his footwork was in some of the footage.

Sometimes talented QBs are overlooked because their success was against poor competition.

Let's see how he develops.

Cam Miller highlights. Hard not like what you see. Confident, runs all over, throws on the run, throws against the grain, makes plays with his legs.

Cam Miller’s arm strength is considered adequate but not exceptional for long passes. Scouting reports note he has enough arm to deliver bucket shots to the far sideline and hit receivers in stride on deep throws, particularly when his mechanics are on point and he releases from a stable base. However, he lacks elite arm strength, which can affect his ability to consistently drive throws with velocity on deep outs or stretch the field vertically, especially under pressure or off-platform. His 2024 stats show he completed 258 of 351 passes for 3,251 yards, with 33 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions, indicating efficiency and accuracy but not necessarily a reliance on big, long throws. At the East-West Shrine Bowl, he impressed with a quick release (0.37 seconds, 95th percentile among NFL QBs) and an average velocity of 48 MPH, suggesting good but not overwhelming arm power. For comparison, NFL quarterbacks with "big arms" often exceed 55 MPH on velocity tests.
His success at North Dakota State relied more on precise ball placement, anticipation, and mobility, with standout plays like a 40-yard touchdown pass against Mercer and a 36-yard touchdown pass against Abilene Christian showing he can hit longer throws when needed. However, his scouting profiles suggest he’s better suited for timing-based systems emphasizing short-to-intermediate throws rather than schemes demanding frequent deep shots.
