QB Coaches-past and present
I have been thinking about this and how important a good QB coaches for a young QB's career. Joe Gibbs won Super Bowl's with three different ones. Bill Walsh comes to mind as one of the best with Mike Holmgren being a continuation of that. Mike Shanahan, Tom Moore, Bruce Arians and the great Andy Reid. Tom Flores also deserves some consideration in this conversation. Jon Gruden? I dunno, there was only one Rich Gannon and I thought Marc Trestman and Jim Harbaugh got more out of him.
Mike Sullivan has done some solid work in this regard. Eli Manning, Josh Freeman had a monster season with him and for a while looked like a rising star. Klint Kubiak has an excellent track record with QB's. It's encouraging to see that the Raiders are setting up Mendoza to succeed by giving him all of the tools off the field which can be as important as the ones on the field.
