QBs for 2026 Draft
Rather than clutter up multiple threads. A place to discuss the potential and probable QBs that will be available in the Draft in 2026.

Mendoza is the gem so far in the draft, but he had what I consider a dud performance Saturday. None of these guys are first rounders in my book but teams are going to draft at least two and maybe three in the first round. Desperation moves at best.

Well yeah, that book is meaningless.Attyla wrote: Mon Nov 03, 2025 11:50 am Mendoza is the gem so far in the draft, but he had what I consider a dud performance Saturday. If Saturday was Mendoza's Mendoza Line, sign me up. Indiana won 55-10. They decided to run it instead and Mendoza mentioned that in his press conference how versatile his team was. Team player for sure.

read a stat line I see. I watched the game, he was not a first round player in the game. The Real CK wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 9:07 am Well yeah, that book is meaningless.

Dante Moore might overtake Mendoza before the end of the season. Simpson is going to break into the first round but the talent is not there, just a lot of teams who need QBs, probably the same with Sellers. Allar and Nussmeier have pushed themselves out of the first round entirely. Klubnik is now a third rounder. Avery Johnson is a mid day three guy now. Josh Hoover is a late day three guy. CJ Carr is tracking to be a day three guy. Sorsby might creep into day 2. Mateer would be a high day 2 guy. Maiava is possibly a late day 2 guy. Beck has pushed himself to day three but probably someone takes him day 2. Leavitt will probably go day 2.
I cannot say I have watched a ton of film on all those guys, but enough to have some good idea on the QB class, and not all the guys who have eligibility left are going to come out of course. I doubt if Manning comes out for sure. If I am the Raiders, I might stand pat one more year and take OL this draft and that is said with us being as desperate as we are.
And that is my opinion but there is a lot of college football left and everything from break out performances to injuries will change team draft boards in real time

The biggest issue and the data points it out. Fans are so obsessed with any one guy that they fight that any qb succeeding is a statistical improbability.
Going from 21-23ish year old college males to long term NFL starting is like something in the rise of 500,000 to 1.
With that in mind, latching on to any ONE QB As “this guy will be the guy!” Makes little to no sense.
He might, odds say he won’t.

The follow up to this is despite the odds an NFL team HAS to roll the dice and not sit on an average at best starter (Carr) or retreads (Smith) as the latest example.
The clock starts on a team from a rookie QBs contract. Every other contract has to account for that, doubly so if the QB is a 1st round pick which he would be if you want to win.

Walter Football just came out with their latest Mock and they have Simpson going number one. Interestingly they have Mendoza going to the Dolphins which would mean the Tua experiment is over and I can see the second part but not the first. No way in hell would the Jets pass on him.
They have Sellers going to us. If it is a choice between Sellers and Peter Woods I go Woods all day. Pairing him with Maxx would be deadly. Lomu should be there in the second and we could grab him to shore up a bit of the offensive line. Or maybe Earnest Greene.

I think we’ll be leafy high and dry with 1st round QBs again. Would rather go the giants root and get a defensive talent in the 1st and then look at either trading up or taking a QB top of the second.
John Mateer With Mike McDaniels would absolutely cook.

Might end up with another NDS QB… Cole Payton.
TDS break down starts around 29mins in.
Got all the tools. Rushed for 700plus yards last year used as an offensive weapon.
Seen people comp him to the White Jalen Hurts…. Dual threat, looks after the ball, some big throws but might not see everything.

Fernando Mendoza or Dante Moore has to be the pick in the first round.
Yes, I know we need defense; but QB is worth more than any position.
