The Way Too Early Grade The Draft Thread

Post by Attyla »

D+ we did not get our number one WR LOL

Actually, I like this draft, Spytek moved around a lot and got us some nice pieces. We did not get everything but it feels like Raiderland Christmas.

So let's see those overreaction grades. I know, I know, you cannot grade a draft for 3 years. Boo f[raiders_icon]cking Hoo. Lighten up Francis and grade this glorious weekend.

Mendoza by himself does not get us an A but the rest of the group certainly has to impress when put together. McCoy if he heals up makes the robber barons of the draft.

And there will be UDFAs and post draft pickups and drops. Tyree is going, well eventually, I mean the door s 40 yards away so it will take some time.

Grade A- but if McCoy pans out the grade could change.

A+: Getting the best player in the draft at the most important position in all of sports makes everything else gravy(the rest of the draft was pretty good too, maybe a B/B+).

A-, as some needs went unadressed, but you can't do everything at once.

We got Mendoza, some blocking for him upfront, and a ton of defensive help.

Solid draft. Obviously great to get 15. The rest seem like good picks. Football players. Not just athletes though a few are stupid athletic

Just poured me a tall glass of ice cold Kool aid.

They've added intelligent players, perhaps a franchise QB, some ball hawks, and speed. Lots of speed. The only risky pick was McCoy, who is worth it where we took him IMO. I see where they're going and I like it.

A

A... if for no other reason than this staff handled the draft in a very professional, intelligent manor. I like the picks, too.

A for sure. I’m most impressed that they had a clear plan and executed it. Obviously they were not keen on the WR class and loved the DBs. In addition to Mendoza, I think they added at least 3-4 starters which is a great result.

This team got athletic and fast in a hurry. Oh yeah we got a franchise qb too! I can't complain about any pick

It hurt passing on McDonald but I trust this scouting department knows far more than I about these things. Looking forward to TC

Great job…lots of burners and guys with high grades.Love the 4 SEC in a row and I saw two of them in person this year..solid.(Auburn/Arkansas)
Washington has some juice but his team sucked so bad it was hard to see a lot. Crawford caused more fits against us than Faulk.

The Great, Good, Okay Fine, Bad, and Ugly
with apologies to Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone

Great: Mendo
Good: blinding fast FS at a position of DIRE need for us in a draft thin at that position
Edge rusher to supplement Maxx (bad wheels), help at LB with our 3-4, and replace some edges eventually.
OL who can play all POS, be a backup center, and maybe RT or replace Miller one day, with incredible blocking grades
3rd best RB in the draft in the 4th
Okay Fine: depth at CB, WR, S.
Bad: SOOOOOOOOOOOO many NT's in the draft and we didn't draft ONE?
Ugly: So many of us (myself included) get so chippy about this whole process. I chalk it up to the misery we have all felt for so long. We all (some anyway) can do better.

The ESPN table was very complimentary of Spyteks work.

Glad they picked up a versatile OL to immediately compete at guard. Loved the McCoy pick in case that big swing pans out. The Crawford pick seems risky at 67, but I’m hoping for the best.

B+, we really need a foundational draft class.

We wait until the 4th round to go BPA. Too little, too late.

THE BROWNS GOT TAYLEN GREEN!

The only player that will start is the safety. Everyone else is depth at best. If it weren't for Mendoza, it would be one of the worst drafts of all time.

Definitely was a plan and theme to the draft. That alone deserves applause.
