kid would have been #1 cb for sureMexicanHulk wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 10:57 am Oh no. He would have been top 10. Probably #1 CB in this draft. Let's hope he can recover.

And we got Treydan Stukes as well you called it giving him his Flowers I salute you Mexican turning him on to me tooMexicanHulk wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 9:41 am Great pick at this point. Worth the risk. If he has to sit the year due to surgery but, comes back healthy next season, WELL WORTH THE PICK!! That's not debatable. If he doesn't work out, it was a day 3 three pick. Not a big deal at all
EDIT: Double post can a mod delete one? There isn't an option for me to

Love the pick. Obviously he fell to the 4th for a reason, but considering what you normally get out of the 4th round… if he never fully recovers the outcome won’t be dramatically different than most other 4th round picks. If he recovers though he’s one of the steals of the draft.

He claims his doctor's told him he's good. But if the raiders want him to have another surgery he will

Reminds me of the corner out of Houston we took that had the heart problem. Hope not, but could be the same result.

Even if so. At least this one wasn't taken in the firstGoodlukchuck wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:10 pm Reminds me of the corner out of Houston we took that had the heart problem. Hope not, but could be the same result.

Yeah, but that was a first rounder. That was a crazy risk to take with so much draft capital.Goodlukchuck wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:10 pm Reminds me of the corner out of Houston we took that had the heart problem. Hope not, but could be the same result.
Fourth rounders are dime and a dozen and the rookie deals are much easier to absorb with almost no guaranteed money. It's worth the risk. Jadeveon Clowney had a very risky microfracture surgery done to his knee in 2014 and he's still in the league 12 years later.

If Mccoy plays in the league as long as DJ Hayden, the Raiders will have gotten the steal of the draft, no question.Goodlukchuck wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:10 pm Reminds me of the corner out of Houston we took that had the heart problem. Hope not, but could be the same result.

The heart problem is not why DJ Hayden played subpar. He was cleared when he was drafted in the 1st round (not 4th) by the Raiders.Goodlukchuck wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:10 pm Reminds me of the corner out of Houston we took that had the heart problem. Hope not, but could be the same result.
That draft was a historically bad draft, even the player the Dolphins took with the traded pick from the Raiders at 2 was a bust, Dion Jordan. The 1st QB picked was not even top 10, EJ Manuel. The best player in the 1st round was DeAndre Hopkins who went 27th. I personally wanted Raiders to pick Star Lotulelei who went two picks after Hayden at pick 12 but they went with Hayden (RIP) because Mark wanted corners and it didn’t work out.

How they deal with the knee will be interesting. There are teams that believe he needs another surgery if he's going to have a long career. McCoy says he is ready to go but will go with what the team wants with respect to whether he gets surgery. Do they let him play in 2026 and risk the degenerative knee, or have the surgery and make it a redshirt year.
It's possible that the best move for the Raiders is to just let him play and take the chance that a 4th rounder never sees a second contract - he ran in the 4.3's with his knees as-is. But the best move for McCoy is probably a surgery and redshirt year.

Yup, really bad draft at the top. I once read that only 1 or 2 of the guys in the top 5 ever got a second contract.ALLRAIDERWORLD21 wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 11:55 pm The heart problem is not why DJ Hayden played subpar. He was cleared when he was drafted in the 1st round (not 4th) by the Raiders.

I wanted Jarvis Jones, LB out of Georgia, but Star was a good choice too.
