Did Free Agency Change Your Outlook on the Upcoming Season?
Or is this still a rebuilding year?

We'll be better, but it's tough to commit to a more positive statement.
I do like what the FO did and tried to do in FA though. It shows a commitment to fixing what was obviously a great weakness in our O-line and I expect they'll keep moving forward with that. Addressing the obvious should be a standard, not a a brilliant insight.

First time hc and dc. Brand new coaching staff minus a few holdovers. However many new players. Journeyman and/or rookie qb. Questionable wr room. Brand new system. No quality depth so injuries will could be a problem. I don't see more than a handful of wins this year and hopefully we see an upward trajectory and be ready for the playoffs next year

Last years team was horrid and we were in several games down to the last minute and likely could have just as easily finished with 6 wins. With that in mind I think it's possible to hit the 7 or 8 win mark. Predicitng W-L records before the draft is impressive.

Keep in mind that one of our wins last year was vs the Chiefs with a guy starting for them at QB who's gonna be a tough trivia question for anyone. And it took a last second 60 yard FG by Carlson to get that win. We were a lot closer to a 2 win team than we were to a 6 win team.

I went with 9 wins. I just refuse to go into any situation with a mind set of losing. I'll change my guess if The Raiders start off 0-5.

Sure. And I think about who our QB was all year lol. Which is why we have nowhere to go but up.chucker wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2026 12:46 pm Keep in mind that one of our wins last year was vs the Chiefs with a guy starting for them at QB who's gonna be a tough trivia question for anyone. Well, free agency was mostly a success. It changes what we can do in the draft so that is a big plus. We moved up almost a year on the fix for the team. And the deals allow us to fix things and then get cheap just when Mendoza's big contract looms. So I will take it.
Predicting wins and losses is a futile effort until we see a lot more. But I am pleased with what we potentially have.

Looking less at wins and losses and more at development of Mendo and overall quality of ball. We have 9 playoff teams on our schedule not including 2 games against KC. Worst case scenario we don’t win many, next years draft is loaded… Jeremiah smith would look great in silver and black one day

So you’re saying Instead of “Raiders” on the jerseys it should have read “Canada”?chucker wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2026 12:46 pm Keep in mind that one of our wins last year was vs the Chiefs with a guy starting for them at QB who's gonna be a tough trivia question for anyone. We had to get quite of few players, we did. We had a mountain of cash. Point is we were always going to get players that makes sense (for the most part) because that is what all teams do each year, unless you are in cap hell. So on paper yes it looks solid, but it often does this time of year. Sure this can be different, but it's not really all that different so far.
The differences are Franchise QB, hopefully modern coaching and the reason why a top Center was available and we nabbed him, We still need more OL, Imo we are 2 players shy, at least one more vet in FA.

Its doesn't feel like we're rebuilding.
When it does, we sign 29yo to 31yo players or 1 year prove it deal guys.
We're signing 25 or 26yo playere to 3 year deals. And good players. Players who fit exact needs.

17 games, 9 against playoff teams. 4 division games against Denver/LA not including division rival KC with Mahomes back who owns us. On paper we are much better, not allowing for player disappointment and injuries. 3 wins last year? .500 season thereabouts 8-9 wins all good, could be asking too much!
