Miami out coached Indiana for sure. And Miami clearly was out to be as physical as possible. They deserved about 7-8 more penalties.

Yup, like Cignitti said, there were 3 penalties NOT called in 1 series...2 roughing the passer and the other was flat out targeting of Mendoza which should have resulted in that player being ejected.

This offseason: HC, Mendoza, super focus on Oline.
Nexy year: super focus on DLine.
Rest doesn't matter, you'll have NFL quality players in those spots and they'll shine brightest from dominating trenches.

oh god, not the last three natty's... it's almost like the SEC didn't dominate the sport for two straight decades.

it's a level playing field now, but the SEC isn't fading into obscurity. It's still the best conference from top to bottom in almost every sport, but nice try...

If you get pickier, I noticed holding on two of Miamis TDs that did directly affect the ability of a would be tackler.

I just hope the fan base gives Mendoza time to grow. Can't expect anything but gradual improvement and we can't measure him by wins/loss the first couple of years.

We do know he struggled against Miami because all QB's do when they are getting pressured. We were the WORST at this last year. We try to cope and put almost all of it on Geno, but it was the OL. If Mendoza faced yesterdays pressure for 16 games like Geno did, he wouldn't be on the radar. So yes there is concern but it's more of protection based vs Mendoza's abilities if he has time. I actually do find the rumors of a trade for Burrow or Lamar interesting as those are truly proven. Your basically buying insurance, less but proven years vs the new kid that could be something or not and go full term with you. But current Raiders would show Burrow and Lamar suck and then we hate them, all the time it's coaches and oline.

Burrow would fit right in. He is used to getting sacked five times a game.

It's already been settled with the previous guy. He gets 9 years to prove himself, that's what the Carr fans demanded. Now we also get to see who they really were fans of, Carr or the Raiders.

It was easy to dislike all the QBs after Carr for them, until now. They are going to have to come up with some VERY "creative" ways to justify their blind adherence. Should be amusing to watch.
