He can learn any offense but can't always run an offense. And his long ball is mediocre at best.

This makes him a backup QB. He'll be a good mentor for Mendoza/Moore.

Say what you want about AOC but if I had to win a game and he, Geno, and Pickett wear my choices, give me AOC all day..he just looks more poised out of the three.

O'Connell might be a worthy backup if he can find a way to stay healthy. I'm sure he'll be competing for the backup job next season - there's zero reason to dump a QB on a cheap contract until you have a replacement. If we had a quality vet mentor to help Mendoza along then O'Connell might lose out.

We’ve had such bad QB play for so many years that when we get mediocre play, people start becoming delusional. The lingering desire for AOC as a starter needs to die in 12 minutes.
