Not true at all. I live in the Bay Area and watched tons of games that I wasn’t able to make it to on local tv, and recorded a bunch more.

There was a lot of blacked out games with Mt Davis open, but once they started tarping it off there were very few.

This one wasn't too bad DD. We lost but we didn't get blown out and Jeanty had a good game.

Yeah there were a lot of announced sellouts with tons of seats unsold. They were on TV with a 2/3 attendance. I used to laugh and go online to look for tickets and put in 50 seats and 25 options would pop up. Raiders bought the tickets to avoid the blackouts

That happened sometimes yeah but the tarping off of mt Davis got way more press than it should have. It wasn’t that many seats and the view was shit from up there so no one wanted to buy those seats.

Really it was the luxury boxes that warranted Mt. Davis.

2013 was when they started to Tarp off Mt. Davis. "Capacity" went from 63K to about 55-56K. Tickets in the third deck of the original Coliseum at times were buy 1 get 1 free, I think they were priced at $26.00 per from the Raiders. An effort to get families in the door and hopefully create a young fanbase, who eventually become your STHs in the future. A televised game in your local market was a free 3 hour advertisement/promotion of your product. Mark knew that, and would "pay for that 3 hour window" by committing to purchase remaining tickets at a certain level, 2K or something like that. Davis knows business and promotion, I give him that.
