I agree 100%. Unreal that this franchise is still too scared to draft a 1st rounder since ‘07. It’s almost like Big Al made that his final dying wish to Turnip. The time to move this franchise into the modern age with a billionaire owner or billionaire conglomerate is long overdue.

Its certainly odd. The shadow of the Old Man and his reluctance to draft QBs is a thing. Or at least not draft the same one over and over again in terms of type only for them to bust.

Here is the thing, I think I posted it last week. Look at the QBs for teh Bills by way of example during these stretches:
Post-Kelly Starters (1997–2017): Todd Collins, Billy Joe Hobert, Alex Van Pelt, Doug Flutie, Rob Johnson, Drew Bledsoe, J.P. Losman, Kelly Holcomb, Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Brohm, E.J. Manuel, Thad Lewis, Jeff Tuel, Kyle Orton, Tyrod Taylor, Nathan Peterman.

Those in bold? Drafted in rounds 1 through 3. Granted that's over a 21 year span, but still several were in the first round.

In each case say like EJ bombing out? The FO isn't around for the next go at a QB, wash and repeat. Point being is a FO is invested in "their guy" succeeding because their jobs depend on it.

Which is why the case of Boy Wonder spanning multiple regime changes for nearly ten years is so puzzling.

While the Bills were irrelevant for nearly two decades they at least followed the correct strategy to try and right their ship. Us? Not so much. I'm looking at the stats now, it ain't pretty.

I had to step away from the bullshit we saw for a couple hours and I think this is a breaking point for a lot of Raiders fans.

1 Vegas will NEVER be a home field advantage for the Raiders. The Bears are just a s bad as us and their fans still took over the joint. That blocked FG at the end sounded louder than anything we heard in years.

2 How many 3 INTs games Is Geno going to have this year? It’s too so far and you know there will be more. Since the Seaosn is in effect over. Why not start someone else?

3 The play calling was bullshit

4 Jeanty showed what he can do today.

5 Maxx deserves better and should be traded at this point.

Here is a sobering thought as the slide to oblivion continues:
1960–1985 → 19/26 seasons winning (~73%).
1986–2025 → 9/40 seasons winning (~22%).

I stand by my contention that in the case of the Raiders we can pinpoint the exact date it all started to unravel, slowly at first. We didn't know it at the time but 11-30-86 vs the Eagles losing 33 to 27 marked the end of the glory years.
