I don't use the "sellout" very often because it's often used in a juvenile manner, but for someone who wouldn't need to work for 10+ lifetimes, taking money like that is indeed selling out, but not for the money (ahem).

Head scratching. The one thing that comes to my mind is that TB loves to compete. He thrives on leading a team and business hasn't given him the same "one for all and all for one" feeling he gets from football.

Here's an excerpt from a TB newsletter:

As I got deeper into my career, and I’d had more than enough success and won more than enough accolades by any objective standard, one of the questions I’d get from media all the time was about my motivation to keep playing. What kept me going? What kept the engine running and the fire burning? (It’s the question we all have to answer for ourselves, at some point.)

My answer was my teammates. Not just never wanting to let them down, but also wanting all the new guys coming in–the draft picks, the free agents–to experience the same joy and elation I’d experienced winning the ultimate prize as part of a team with a single mission and a we-first attitude. I wanted the same thing for all the guys in the Tampa Bay organization when I came there, as well.

Knowing that I could be a big part of helping to facilitate a childhood dream coming true for a rookie or a professional goal being achieved for a tenured vet, drove me to watch film, work on my footwork, run practice and compete just as hard in year 23 as I did in year 1. Being part of something bigger than myself and being accountable to my teammates didn’t just make me want to do the hard work, it made getting up for it easy. It made the work a pleasure, a daily source of joy and satisfaction for its own sake–which is the crux of where intrinsic motivation meets extrinsic motivation.

I think he just plain misses being an athlete.

I can’t say I’m sad to see another guy on the injury list for the chargers. Just win - I don’t care if it’s over a bunch of backups. A couple of LBs out might help us get the run game going

Are the guys on the chargers injury list all starters ?

Flag football will last until the first player tears their ACL and is out for a full NFL season. I just hope its not a Raider player that gets injured... hopefully it's Brady recruiting a bunch of KC & Chargers players for the flag football league and our players are no shows

Honestly, the only thing I can think about this whole Arab thing is these guys are the investors that wanna buy the Raiders and Tom is trying to get them involved with the NFL and get them involved with NFL players so when the time comes, there’s some history there. Let’s face it if anyone can afford to buy an NFL team it’s a bunch of f[raiders_icon]cking Arabs lol

At the stadium - very pro-Raiders crowd so far. A good sign. Typically if there was a huge visitors presence, we’d see them by now.
