I think the John Madden comparisons are about when I started burying my head in the sand last year. Can't even be mad. It really puts into perspective what Raider fans have been put through that they thought Antonio Pierce was qualified for the job.

Well the raiders for last 20 years have been really bad so I am just clutching at straws; hoping somebody can turn this team around…and I was hoping that AP could do that Madden magic

I think that was everyone's approach. It was just that the buy in from some was almost Brown's fan level.

I do not like interim's getting the job. The history is just mindblowingly bad how often they fail and when they do it is in epic fashion. An interim is simply a desperation move to get to the end of a season and almost to a man, that is where it should stop. Add to that, in our case, of not having a QB and letting our RB walk, the level of disaster waiting to happen was epically bad.

The problem is, he was too stupid to know how unprepared he was to even consider the job.

We have been cursed (and hopefully things are starting to change). If you combine the brains of Gruden, McDouche, AP, and Graham, you are about half way to having the smarts to be an actual NFL coach. What shit we had/have to endure. I salute everyone on this f[raiders_icon]cking board for hanging in there. We may occasionally have differences, but its all good. We all DESERVE good fortunes (especially younger fans) for this shit show we had to endure.

the similarities between AP and Madden really were just that a position coach became a HC without ever being a coordinator. I pointed that out since it just so rarely happens. But that is where it ends. Madden was a student of the game, Pierce was just a loudmouthed motherf[raiders_icon]cker who bought into his own hype machine and Dufus was too stupid to ask questions to find out if the lump of cells between his ears actually worked.

Add in Maxx basically giving an ultimatum, it was a disaster waiting to happen. I still don't see how anyone thought he had what it took based on his interim stint. It was horrible

One has to wonder if not for Brady, would there be a seemingly competent staff/front office or would MD manage to hire some other underwhelming/head scratching decision for a head coach? I simply have no confidence in MD to make the right hires by himself
