TBH he was never going to play for us. Even if he gets the surgery he is done for the season, the best case scenario would be next year, but he would have been a June 1st cut to save cap space. No way they could keep paying that salary without a guarantee he would show life after 2 seasons. It is best to just cut and move on. Pete doesn't want to keep answering the same questions. The thing that makes his teams good are speed and effort. He isnt ever going to want someone that can't give 110 on every play.

This makes me think though, when was the last year that, early season or pre, the Raiders didn't have some weird drama to contend with? So bizarre

Hmmmm....almost posted yesterday that he wasn't appearing on the Raiders' roster. I only saw that because I wanted to check his number to see if he was participating in any of the DL drills that someone posted a video of. I was wondering if it was because he was on the PUP list, but that didn't really make sense - I guess it does now.

Welp, at the time I thought it was a good signing, Wilkins was a beast and played well for the few games he did play. But this team is snake bitten with free agents. This one reminds me of the Trace Armstrong signing many moons ago. Great player albeit at the end of his career the Raiders signed for a huge contract than got a season ending injury after barely playing for them
