He will be back for a 3rd season because of the guaranteed money he's getting paid alone. I look at it this way. This season is probably going to have some ups and downs as the team is still deficient talentwise at multiple positions as the rest of the division simply has deeper rosters. I expect season 2 of the new regime with another draft and free agency where this team can take a big step forward and having Wilkins healthy and ready to go will be huge for the team.

Wilkins has no guaranteed money in 2026 so if he doesn't show something this year then the team likely decides he's not worth the $25 million in unguaranteed salary for 2026 and cuts bait. The dead money isn't crippling, and it's going to hit the cap one way or another. Dragging it out doesn't really help.

Hopefully he gets healthy and gets on the field this season and proves to be worth his contract when healthy. A healthy Wilkins would really help the defense.

Trade him. I don't dislike him.... I really wanted to see him play for the Raiders. It just seems like we could get 'something" for him that could help us. Hev isn't going to do us any good on the PUP list. I know..... he can play next year... maybe? Some times, you just have to realize that things don't come to fruition. IMO... this is one of those times.

Trade him? Lol he's hurt. Who the hell is gonna want him with the uncertainty and contract? I do believe he will never play another snap for us but his value right now is at an all time low.

I'm sure some team would take him for future glory. We aren't in that catagory at the moment. Take what we can get for him. It won't be the last time a really good player doesn't work out. ...i'm going glass half full, as injuries happen, the guy is a top player at that position when healthy, by all accounts, has done everything asked of him, and more, during the process, and having had some surgeries myself, the frustrating part can be that you don't truly know if a surgery was a complete success until some time (and rehab) passes, and it you ht a wall, and have lingering issues which are not likely to fix themselves.
....and it doesn't seem too uncommon to find out after that time and rehab, that you need a follow up, clean up, whatever, procedure.
...based on recent information, it does appear that he has had a follow up procedure that we were not aware of, after having had that setback, and if Rappaport s info on the previous page is accurate, there are reasons to be optimistic for a return relatively sooner.
