This one caught my attention for sure. I’ve talked this over with a couple friends my age, as we recognize him as an important, but somewhat obscure figure in the history of rock ‘n’ roll I saw Country Joe and the Fish in April, 1967 when I was still 15 years old. My father dropped me off at San Jose State College to see them. They were the first San Francisco band I saw and certainly the best band I saw at that point because all I had seen up to then was San Jose garage bands.
