8 year vet. Raiders get him and a 7th for a 6th.

Buffalo selected Johnson in the fourth round (pick 121 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft, and watched him go on to become a shutdown cornerback who helped usher in the “Buffalo Nickel” defense so integral to McDermott’s system. Injuries appeared to take their toll on Johnson in recent seasons, both affecting his availability and ability on the field.


We'll see how it all shakes out. He was a cap casualty. Dude can find opportunity here for PT at either Safety or Nickel if he stays healthy.

Eh, not super excited about this but we need some secondary help badly. Hes going to cost us like 8 million and they were going to release him, but on the other hand our secondary was a disaster last year and we need some vet presence. Plus we are going to have to overpay for any talent to come here right now.

I’m wondering if they are giving us a 6th rounder for our 7th rounder. We are saving them the cap hit…

Everything I’m seeing is we give up one of our 6th round picks (182 or 185) for Taron Johnson CB and one of Buf’s 7th round picks (219 or 227).

Spytek making some nice moves to start the new league year. Another high character signing at a position of need.

Feels like he would never sign here if released, so we spent a 6th rounder to get him here.

Hopefully he isn’t disgruntled.

A net positive for the defense and the team and Geno's cap saving will pay for him.

Well he just got a pay raise without state income tax. I don't think he was going to be paid his current salary if released.

PFF had him as the 20th best CB going into last season. Had a down year but was still mid. Seems like a solid pickup to allow more focus elsewhere to start FA. Perhaps couldn't resign Stokes to a contract they liked and went this way
