Surprised? I was, at least a little bit. We knew Mahomes and Herbert would lift this division's overall ranking to a certain level, but the true linchpin of the group is the new student in the class; not only did Smith's acquisition by the Raiders give Las Vegas a legitimate starter, it also filled out the league's strongest quarterbacking division entering 2025. I haven't forgotten about Nix, who flirted with end-of-year awards consideration in 2024, even as a bit of a tumultuous late-season stretch reminded us of the challenges that face every rookie. Nix married quite well with coach Sean Payton, helped the Broncos return to the postseason for the first time in nearly a decade and positioned Denver for a very optimistic 2025. If he keeps it up, he'll climb the ranking and confirm the supremacy of a division otherwise populated by proven veterans.

Im not sold on Nix yet. He might be the next coming, but I have seen too many rookies come out blazing, only to cool off once DC's have some tape on them. I am also not sold on Herbert...not sure why but the dude just doesnt win. Im an Oregon Ducks fan, so although I hate where they play, I do hope they succeed. For me, Herbert needs to play better when it matters, and Nix needs to prove his rookie year wasnt just a fluke.

Well this article should certainly get the fellas that get their feathers ruffled about whether or not Geno Smith is a Top Ten QB happy as pigs in shit.

It's gotta suck to be the Browns or the Colts and see that your #1 doesn't even crack the top 32. But, I'm not talking smack - we've been in that neighborhood for years now. Not necessarily at QB, although we haven't been great there either, but we've been a bottom five franchise for the past 20 years.

Those guys are really not easy to scheme against. He started slow but caught up quickly so he is processing faster. And he has a coach who can scheme up an offense like nobody's business.

He has similarities to Brees which is why i think he’ll flourish under Peyron especially with that D which only got better this year

I’d argue that if Nix & Herbert were in any other division our fan base would be giving them way more props than they do

Geno, Herbert or Nix could all be argued as the 2nd best QB even best in a few divisions (AFC North withstanding), it doesn’t annoy me for once that we have the 3rd or 4th rated QB in our division especially when i look at other teams

If the Geno trade doesn’t work it doesn’t work but it the right move, the type of moves we haven’t made for many a year
