Las Vegas Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State – C- Grade
I’m not crazy about this pick. Ashton Jeanty is obviously a great running back prospect, but I don’t think he’s on an elite level like Saquon Barkley or Christian McCaffrey. I would only draft those sort of players in the top 10. If I were the Raiders, I would have drafted Armand Membou instead or tried to trade down. However, I can’t grade Las Vegas poorly for this because Jeanty will be a very good player. Still, with Chip Kelly on the staff, couldn’t the Raiders have drafted one of the Ohio State backs with their second pick?

If Jeanty went to a P4 school he would have won the Heisman and this prick would be praise the pick.
Outstanding pick. Him and Bowers give us two legit offensive playmakers.
Added to a legit starting QB. The Raiders offense is going to be strong in 2025.

6. Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Grade: B+
The Raiders and Pete Carroll want to run the football, so they end up with the best back in the draft. Normally I hate back this high. But this kid is special, Nice pick.

Walter is a schmuck. This was his last mock draft he posted having the Jaguars take Jeanty. He often seems biased against the Raiders.,
I get the sense that Ashton Jeanty will be the fifth pick in this draft. The Bears could trade up to this spot to leap over the Raiders. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Broncos made a crazy move like that as well. And then there’s the Jaguars, who have nothing in their backfield next to Trevor Lawrence. Tank Bigsby is just OK, but he won’t stand in the team’s way of drafting the best player available.
Ashton Jeanty has impressive speed and athleticism, and he also possesses terrific receiving ability.

His 2nd contract won’t destroy our cap either. Best college back since Barkley. Love the pick. Now build that OL!!!
