Raiders trade Tyree Wilson to Saints

Not sure I follow your thoughts: he was highly rated before the draft or highly rated once he was playing for the Raiders? Only a couple of posters here said he was good once we got a look at him with a supposedly fully healed foot. Certainly, for pro years 2 and 3 the foot was not an issue that we could see or heard about. Back to when he was drafted, yes he was a highly rated edge rusher but no way he should have gone that high in the draft. He had mostly positive traits coming out of college and was projected to be a first round pick. It is probably not fair to say he should have gone in the middle rounds of the draft, but on the other hand, with the foot injury and the obvious "slow off the mark" issues, I would have not drafted him at #7. It was not a great draft but there were options at #7; I wanted Gonzalez after Witherspoon was taken. Jack Campbell was also on my radar as I have wanted an impact LB forever. Several mocks has us taking the OL Skoronski. OK, makes sense. So scouts could see in college what we saw from day one as a Pro: slow "get off" and lack of progressing skills like hand-fighting and spin moves. I mean, the guy never changed in three years. A couple of times, he was lucky to run into some sacks and maybe 3 or 4 times I saw him actually shed a block and get the ball carrier. I did see that tight ends could usually handle him one-on-one. Not good for a top draft pick when they don't even have to assign an offensive tackle to block you.

All Tyree had was those measurables of his. But when you look at his tape anyone with good football knowledge could see he wasn't a player. Not for the 1st or 2nd rounds or 3rd imo. I wouldn't have taken a flyer on him at all and not till the 4th at best. I was hoping when the Raiders FO idiots that took him at 7 that year he would hopefully be able to be coached up with his raw physical gifts. But never happened.
I wonder if this guy realizes people avoid engaging with him more than the responses he gets. Kind of sad, really.
looking back his scouting report looks unrealistically optimistic about everything except his wingspan. The get off - easy fix. The lack of spatial awareness or football IQ? No problem. The lack of explosiveness and lateral agility? All good hell do some ladder work. The part where he literally has no moves to speak of?
