The O-Line is beyond trash. No running game or pass protection. It starts in the trenches. The ish is checkers not chest. We have to win up front.

Defensive players played well. Coaching failed them on some key plays.

This is why some of us were against signing Geno. Zero upside. You aren’t winning a SB with this guy so why even bother. He’s mid at best, and bottom tier more often than not. Other teams invest in young QB’s and try to develop. Some workout. Some don’t. We, for some reason, refuse, and results are obvious.

My 2 cents about Eugene (Geno) Smith. He is not going to win us games. Our hope is, that he does not lose us games. Also Eugene is the type of QB, where the team has to be exceptional in other areas. Our O-Line, is trash. So by causation Eugene will be trash as well.

Funny you say this. As soon as the play snapped the guy sitting next to me yelled "Crosby in coverage!?" - and then disaster.

Thought the guy was going to have an aneurysm when Johnston caught the ball. And fair enough, never want to see that again. Same goes for Koonce.

It's as if Chip Kelly lacks a page in his playbook to get an easy 3 yards. He's overthinking it, and by extension every single player on offense is overthinking it. Even positive plays feel forced, like there is no rhythm or comfort in the plays being called.

Yeah, I'm sure those plays are there just as I'm sure he's overthinking it.

When it comes to the chargers the gorilla warfare should be about getting first downs and leaving those big guys on the field for 4 quarters of football. By the end of the game they will be completely exhausted. It's not to say don't take a shot downfield but first things first. Get those big guys worn out where they can't react fast enough and just want to sit on the bench and catch there breath. It could also be because he is brand new to the game but where are the throws out of the backfield to Jeanty?

Thinking our bye is in a good spot this year as opposed to much later. So many changes and so many new pieces it will give us a chance to evaluate ourselves and fix things for the rest of the season. If we come away with a W against the commanders that would be big as after that our schedule looks more favorable but then ramps up at the end of the season...

Putting your best pass rusher in coverage, sounds like something the Raiders would do.

I hope that huge Australian OL gets up to speed quickly. We need at least 1 real guard. Parham and Cappa are garbage. JPJ has played about as well so far. Concerned he may be a lemon but hope not.

The D was better than the O but almost no pressure ever on the QB means you are probably going to lose.

I hope Geno bounces back, and this doesn't affect him negatively going forward. Prime Brady has some awful games too. It's a long season.

The Chargers are a top tier team, the Raiders are not. Outside of excessive injuries I think the Raiders will improve as the season goes on because they have so many young players, many new FAs, and a whole new regime.

It's hard to feel optimistic after last night, but I'm not ready to give up yet. I just want to see improvement.

I still like Geno going forward. He seemed completely off most of the game. Like an overamped starting pitcher to start, then just damn determined to force it anywhere he wanted over and over. He pretty much did that against NE most of the game, so hopefully he learns to be more risk averse but without fear. The long drive in the 2nd half was nice except the tripped up at the end.

I still think Jeanty looked good when he had any space. I think he's at least a good back, and if he doesn't become elite we'll have to live with poor draft value but still a good running back.

That's enough rambling. The game was depressing as hell. Screw games that start at 9 CT/10 ET PM.

There are 15 games left and a lot of new projections of teams after 2 games are going to be proved wrong.

This fanbase is large enough to support 10 home games a year, even if each Raider fan only attended one. I hope yesterday's blunder didn't sour fans on going to future home games. It can be done!

Dubow would have said a previous QB's name instead of Kelly but your point has been supported by evidence.

I hear you - but then those same fans get angry when opposing fans show up. You can't have it both ways. If you don't want to attend games because the team is bad, I totally understand. And that being said, don't get angry when an opposing fan takes that seat instead. Fair, right?

He needs to become elite to be worth the pick, the league if full of good running backs and not only starters.

After 2 games, the Raiders 2025 draft looks very suspect. I liked the Bech pick right up until the moment he wasn't running with the starters. Your 2nd round pick needs to have immediate impact, especially after trading down. I also agree that Jeanty needs to be elite, not "good". And where the hell is Darien Porter? I hope I'm wrong but I am very unimpressed at the moment. Especially the fact that there were superior players available from the 2nd round on at the time we picked.

For the second week in a row, Meyers puts no effort on a block that would have sprung Jeanty for a potential touchdown. I don't know what everyone sees in the guy. He's simply padding his stats so he can audition for another team.

He reminds me of Devante Adams without the talent. In our 2 WR sets, defenses knew when he wasn't getting the ball, so they swarmed Tre Tucker.

This. I knew Parham was garbage (especially when his weight gain happened a long time ago and was not something that took place this off season). I was hopeful for Cappa, especially with his connections to Spytek and Brady (this is a monumental failure on their part). Put the Australian in. He can not do any worse.
