Kwity Paye signed a three-year, $48 million contract.

The Raiders hit a home run with Linderbaum, but the Kwity Paye signing feels like a swing and a miss. Handing $16 million per year to an edge rusher who finished near the bottom of the league in pass-rush efficiency is a classic free-agency overpay.

Paye is a reliable run defender, but he lacks the twitch and explosive counter-moves to consistently pressure the quarterback. In today’s NFL, you don’t pay top-dollar for pocket pushers who can’t turn the corner on third-and-long.

Is 16m yearly average really top dollar for an edge? I’m not suggesting we got a steal on Paye but that seems pretty in line with a mid de

This signing is really one i wish we could take back. Not a fan of this dude at all and I'm not even sure how he's an ideal fit in a 3-4.

Yeah the problem is that actually the raiders traded Crosby to Ravens and were looking for a replacement for Crosby; now the raiders have Crosby back and this signing look to be way overpriced ….

The truth is; the raiders will definitely make Crosby sit out more plays than he is to; just hope he don’t become a drama queen

I know it sounds crazy but is it out of the question that we could trade him during camp to someone who needs an edge? Wouldn't get much back but the point would be to trade the contract, right?

It's almost like some don't realize that depth is needed. If you want Maxx to actually take breathers on snaps off now, you need guys worthy of taking those snaps. Crosby, Paye, Koonce, Snowden is a good two deep setup.

agree 100 pct ...max at 90% of plays is better longer term then him playing himself to death and we have paye whom can achieve that without too much fall off

Chaisson was a player I would have liked. He got 1 year for 11-12 million from Washington. He started all last year for the Pats and had 7.5 sacks. Kwity is better against the run and had back to back 8 & 8.5 sack years before last year. He may prove to be very valuable in division against guys like Mahomes and Nix. He's good at contain rushing

Verified measurements confirm Paye's 6'2.5" height is about 2.5 inches shorter than Crosby's 6'5", yet his 33-inch arms exceed Crosby's 32.875 inches, offering potential for enhanced reach if he refines hand usage and bend.

Paye's elite combine athleticism—4.57-second 40-yard dash and 36 bench-press reps—positions him to thrive under Crosby's mentorship, potentially elevating the Raiders' edge rush from 42 sacks in 2025.

Paye isn't nearly as bad as people on here are making him out to be

People are so used to dog piling on everything for being a mess that they are nit picking this signing,

If you get the 8 sack Paye with his elite run defence then 16 mil is solid deal for what he offers

I do get that people need something to pile on cause we just haven't been used to things looking like they are going well

He will be a value signing. How often have we been able to say that? If the FO had a crystal ball, I am sure they would not have signed him and allocated resources in a different direction. That being said, he will have a lot of new fans. The kid can ball.

I doubt that having 1/8" longer arms will mean anything.
