Call it $3.5 million - it's somewhere in that range for each guy I think. If a team signs them then, assuming we have offset provisions in the contracts (likely), we get money back and a corresponding salary cap credit for the amount the guy was signed for up to the 2025 guaranteed money.

If nobody wants to pay the guy more than $3.5 million, then they'll just sign for the minimum of say $1.2 million (depending on years of service in the league) and we'll get the $1.2 million in cash and cap. The player gets paid no more than he would get by sitting on his couch.

If teams decide the guy is worth say $6 million then we'll get our full $3.5 and the player will effectively get $2.5 million more than sitting on his couch.

Russell Wilson, for example, made the same amount last season as if he'd sat on his couch. The Broncos got maybe $1.2 million back - effectively from the Steelers.

You'll never see the offset credits show up anywhere - I think they are buried in an adjustment to the total available cap for the team the following year, along with a ton of other things. Every year each team actually has a different salary cap as a result of many adjustments to each team's cap.

As for clearing waivers, neither player has to clear waivers this time of year because they are vested veterans with more than 4 years of service. Neither player can officially be cut or sign with another team until FA officially starts because the guaranteed salary they have can't hit the cap until the new league year. We don't have any cap room in the 2024 league year to cover the immediate cap hit of that guaranteed money.
