I like this guy a lot, but unfortunately I absolutely suck at evaluating QBs

Many moons ago coaches coached and GMs built the roster. GMs hired coaches who shared their vision. Coaches now have a lot more power over the roster and I don't see that as a good thing. Gruden the coach was good. Gruden the GM was awful. I think personnel management is a different skill set from coaching and most coaches can't do both.

I would have preferred Telesco be retained and lead the coaching search. And now I think Spytek should be retained and lead a coaching search. The current regime needs to go.

It's not just that our players get beat and are just not good enough. They look completely unprepared and that's on the coaching staff.

Agree. Problem is, that's the only way we can convince a HC to come to this shit hole. Maybe a top 3 pick and a chance at a franchise QB will help.

Oh so now 1 year is enough to judge a GM? Good to know.
That one guy is a HOF player. JPJ was in the top 1/2 of centers last year. Glaze had a solid rookie season. Amazing how the OL regressed significantly now with all this alleged better coaching.

Telesco came from yhe Polian tree. Polian had PREMIUM positions graded higher to take.

It’s more than likely Telesco takes Membou & then trades for Dart. So we’d have a potential franchise QB, foundational tackle to show in free agency.

So yeah I’m gonna be pi$$ed that we don’t have that now thanks to D-bag Mark & his d-bag bff who has ZERO experience to do what he’s doing & showing he sucks.

Lemme guess we got to keep Spytek for continuity now right?

Telesco wasn't trading up when there was 6 qbs or however many available when he was gm. Why in the world would he trade up for Dart? I get the feeling he "wanted" a guy much like Ziegler "wanted to draft" all of the good players that they passed on

Wasn't their a report they tried to trade up for Stroud? Not sure if it was the year Telesco was here.

That's why we need to get a young, hungry coach with some moxy and attitude that wants to prove he can do it. I don't see any older/established coaches coming here under the circumstances, and be expected to turn things around. It hasn't worked yet.... and It isn't going to.

The only way this team turns things around is to completely go another direction.... and give it some time to take hold. Having said that..... it also means we need a coach/staff/QB we can get behind and support even when things aren't all roses for a period of time.

I agree. The only GM that got a legitimate shot was RM. He wasn't great, but he didn't totally suck, either.

Spytek should stay and be allowed to hire the coach and build the roster... without any interference from Mark or whoever the coach is. I won't be all that upset if Spytek is let go, but I think if that happens, he got fcked. Whatever happens this next year, it needs to be permanent for at leasrt 3 years...that means the coach and staff, also. Time to do it right for a change.... and stick with it for a time.

In the old days it seemed GMs had a leash of two coaches and coaches had a leash of two coordinator changes. Maybe I’m misremembering. Anyway, the GM/HC swap every 1.5 years doesn’t appear to be the model of success

3 years? Raider fans will be jonesing for a complete change within the first year if the Raiders aren’t on their way to the playoffs. The last couple of decades have conditioned us for unstable dysfunctional off seasons and now we thrive in it. No more patience in the instant gratification culture these days.

Yea, no doubt. I always look at Pittsburgh for the blueprint to success... keep the coach (if he's competent) and give him time to implement his system. If things go wrong after a time of success, it obviously isn't the coach's fault. Probably a thinning of talent that will take a few drafts to replenish.... and then back to success.

Why not give it a try? Obviously, what we are doing hasn't/isn't going to work.

Rewatching last Ole Miss game and liking Trinidad Chambliss in the 4th if he survives day 2 or requests a waiver and a transfer to LSU (which I believe is not only possible but probable.) If he can prove the doubters that he was a D2 player who got lucky in D1 with Kiffin one more year, he might even get a chance to be a day 1 guy. A guy to keep an eye on to see what happens next.

i am really intrigued with Chambliss, he has come up big in huge games and I haven't seen any glaring bonehead mistakes out of him. He's got a good pedigree from Kiffen's tutorage. He's very accurate, mobile, can move around the pocket well has a live arm. He is the kind of guy I would take a flier on. I guess the only knock on him is his size, but he could end up being a Russel Wilson type. He has requested a waiver and should get an answer back from the NCAA soon
