I guess someone has to start it.

Obligatory this is a young team, no matter what we're being told about "competing" this is a rebuilding year. Onto my sky is falling emotional reaction:

• In 2024 this OL was 7th in Sacks given up, 32nd in Rushing. Our solution for that was a 6 million dollar prove it deal to veteran backup Alex Cappa. That's it... Dylan Parham is a PFF champion who consistently gets beat bad for a few reps a game. Jordan Meredith is struggling at center. Besides snapping the ball into his own ass, a lot of his shotgun snaps are all over the place.

• Geno Smith was obviously bad. The thing is he didn't play that significantly worse than last week. Last week it just worked. He's being a big play merchant and it's clearly not sustainable for a whole 4 quarters.. He's consistently passing up completions, locking on to where he's going presnap. Has way too much mobility to not be tucking the ball and running it when the defense is sitting back in cover 2. He's our most expensive player and was also our worst player last night.

• If Geno Smith was the biggest reason we lost, the 2nd biggest reason was Chip Kelly. Very predictive playcalling. Trying to force this downfield personality onto the offense rather than letting the game come to them naturally. Run more drag routes with Thornton. Run a screen or two a game. Manufacturer YAC with short passes that are pseudo runs in order to get the offense moving. Actually commit to running the ball. RB rotation is a mess, Jeanty's runs are predictable and often overly complicated block schemes where he's relying on a pulling guard or TE to get him to his 1v1. Ton of shotgun runs which is not his forte, and Jordan Meredith is struggling with shotgun snaps. I have no clue wtf they have seen in Zamir White. For the love of god let Jeanty and Laube run the ball more. Get easy 1st downs early in the game instead of trying to win the game in the 1st quarter. The whole offense looks slow like they're thinking and not playing instinctively on most run plays. They're being coached to fit into Kelly's offense, it should be the other way around.

• Everyone besides Maxx on the DL is providing little to no pass rush. The LB'ers have been dominant, Kyu Blu has been a revelation. The defensive players weren't horrible but I have to say it again, Patrick Graham has a penchant for dialing up very predictable ineffective blitzes in order to generate a pass rush where there is none, and forces our DB's to play with one arm behind their back. We get beat badly almost every time he blitzes.

This is why some of us were against signing Geno. Zero upside. You aren’t winning a SB with this guy so why even bother. He’s mid at best, and bottom tier more often than not. Other teams invest in young QB’s and try to develop. Some workout. Some don’t. We, for some reason, refuse, and results are obvious.

Being aggressive isn't a flaw. It is a flaw when your arm can't cash the checks.

The problem is much like last season. They can’t run the ball. Running the ball behind this offensive line results in a steady diet of 3rd and long. The braintrust clearly wanted to see what they had for an offensive line before making big changes. Now they know that the issues were a lot deeper than AP’s coaching staff. I would expect the team will be investing in both lines in the offseason.

Seriously. That was a historically awful game. Pimples took the checkdowns when available and kept the chains moving.

The Chargers were trying to give it away. Geno doesn't throw three dumb interceptions and the game gets interesting.

Ignoring how badly the Raiders were manhandled, the Chargers really do look like the team to finally dethrone the Chiefs. They were really impressive.

I wanted Herbert during the draft process. I was told I was an idiot. I do not think the two are mutually exclusive but Herbert may be entering his prime and that is a bad thing for the division in my opinion.

These run formations are not very effective. Many times AJ gets the ball and has 3 yards to make a move/find a hole to run through. He is much better suited in my estiamation if you give him enough room to get some momentum. He looked really good considering the crap run calls. Have to play to your players strengths. That definitely did not happen last night.

Like I said we could’ve went younger with Darnold, draft Membou to open up holes. Instead Pete has to get “my guy” & Spytek has to get the guy to help his kid win fantasy football.

Pete has put together a good defense & Chip had good plays setup. The personnel decisions keep destroying the team, at least Telesco knew where to build. He takes 2 OL with his first 3 picks yet still took the HOF talent with his 1st selection.
