Teams will need to drop back into coverage more with Geno’s accuracy with the deep ball and Bowers, Mayer, and Meyers hoovering up passes through the middle.

Word from multiple sources has been actually that they needed to field the best line they had. Meredith worse than JPJ at guard and ok at center, so that is why..not that Meredith straight out beat him at that position.

Yeah anyone hating on Geno for 362 and TD with that line play is just a hater. He made some big throws. We don’t win that game last season.

The lines pass protection was actually pretty good especially after halftime adjustments.

I don't think that's what the word has actually been. The messaging I've seen is that Meredith was managing the mental part of the center position better - and that's a huge part of that position and a huge part of the whole line playing well. JPJ is stronger and more physical and he can focus on that at guard while he learns the NFL game more and he might just work his way back to center.

Chucker and VTRaider, I hadn't heard that at all. Where'd you guys hear or read that? That would be pretty damning if guards were having to make calls. And as we have all heard, Kelly's offense is dense and a lot to take on.

I can't remember just remember reading it. It was early in camp so at the time I just chalked it up to inexperience

Lol we can make all the excuses we want. JPJ should be the center and there's no ifs ands or buts. The decision to work in a guy (Meredith) who never played center before was mind boggling and it's showing. Didn't the run game excel late last year when JPJ was at center? Make the switch Pete. I don't know that i buy that JPJ can't make the calls at the line. The f[raiders_icon]cking guy played center last year for us and the run game got better.
