Ugly win.
Basically scored 13 points if not for the turnover at the 2-yard line.

Were the announcers paid to keep saying our defense was good?
Or are they given instructions to stay positive on the microphone if they are watching an awful football game?

Where I am is simply this, until we solve the QB position with a long-term solution via the draft and with one in the first round?ToastPatterson wrote: Sun Oct 12, 2025 4:42 pm There are always teams willing to trade those picks. I know what you are saying because we see the impact a Jayden Daniels has on a team. Personally I think it's better to amass the playas and then add the QB unless of course you can get a Jayden Daniels. Also, acquiring a good veteran QB via free agency is difficult so you raise valid points.
Honestly, I do not believe it's a reach for Geno to settle down and be similar to Alex Smith.
This franchise wasting its time until we do.
Nothing matters on who we draft, who we pick up. Nothing. Not until QB is solved.
Its been true ever since the last game of the 2018 season when it was clear that Carr was not the long term answer. Its also even more true from the franchise perspective because of our history of an allergy to drafting QBs in general.

And I think that's kinda my point. I think people are a little blinded by today's win. I used to love when my Raiders looked good and got a win. This? This I know there is no reason to get excited bc we are just not a good team. We're not even an average team.ToastPatterson wrote: Sun Oct 12, 2025 4:53 pm It is difficult to say. I do not believe it is impossible provided the turnovers can be cleaned up. Lot's of iff and buts and maybe I am being too optimistic because we won today.

Waaaahhhhh waaaaahhhhh. My favorite football team won a game. Waaaahhhh. They have a qb that I don't like and the had the gall to win a football game. Waahhhh. Haven't we found that out the last 2 years? We need a QB. You do not get that getting meaningless wins.

Yes. Baker Mayfield's are few and far between but there are an occasional Brock Purdy's. I think we all agree that it starts with the QB in a QB driven league.Willmark wrote: Sun Oct 12, 2025 4:55 pm Where I am is simply this, until we solve the QB position with a long-term solution via the draft and the in the first round?

Yeah. He outplayed a 13 year vet with a worse offense.ToastPatterson wrote: Sun Oct 12, 2025 4:42 pm There are always teams willing to trade those picks. I'm even more grim than that. This franchise has been run by idiots when it comes to QB. Across multiple regimes.pfish57 wrote: Sun Oct 12, 2025 4:59 pm Straight up Willmark don't sugar coat it it like most on this forum![]()

We wasted ten-years when after 2018 it was clear what Carr was yet still soldiered on for some unfathomable reason. And have drafted like something like maybe seven QBs since 2000? (I posted the exact numbers and rounds a few days ago). It's bleak.
But here is the kicker? Just because we might draft a QB high, there is no guarantee that the one we draft won't be a bust. Or the one after that, and so on.
So what are the Raiders likely to do? Maybe draft a QB but stay with him when its clear he won't be the guy. Why? Because we have past precedence with that...
Or the most Raider thing of all? Not draft one at all.

No one thinks the Raiders are a good team because of this win. Some of us like wins and think the idea of stacking wins (ugly ot not) is good for the mindset of the team. Why does that bother some posters so badly?
