We hired a coach who has won at every level. That is who we hired. Go back and look at his year to year record. And he is probably the reason we traded for Smith and I do not deny that is likely the case. The Real CK wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 6:08 am It is his shtick.
The Giants have some nice, young pieces. They need to fire Daboll and find a coach to maximize those pieces.
Meanwhile, we decided to hire Depends, trade for and extend his 34-year-old boy toy, not beef up the O-Line and let Depends' Nepo Baby run it, and draft a slot WR in the second round who barely plays.
The game gets away from everyone at some point, but Pete is a good coach, he just does not have a line yet and Geno is pressing, and that needs to be coached up

Hiring the oldest coach in NFL history was a foolish move from the start. His last few years indicated further slippage. Because Wonder Boys Brady and Spytek couldn't land the prime candidates, including a Tampa Bay coach, we had to pivot to a fossil while the rest of the league trends younger and younger.Attyla wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 6:42 am We hired a coach who has won at every level. He doesn't have a O-line because he hired his Nepo Baby son to run the show. All of his NFL experience came from Daddy Dearest.
Carroll wanted Geno because he runs whatever Carroll says. The Russ Wilson-Pete relationship soured over Wilson wanting a larger say. As for Geno, there isn't much to coach up. That 2022 season was a fluke. The other seasons are the real Geno - a middling starter who thinks his arm is better than what it is.
Seattle saw the writing on the wall for Depends and Gina and escaped. We ignored the train coming down the track.

Personally, I think he was the low man on the totem pole, and when the ones they desired more went to greener pastures, they settled for him.

we can agree to disagree, I watched the tape from camp and I saw a very active and sharp guy out there. as for Smith, he is pressing and it is costing us. That can be coached up but Smith needs to make better decisions. The Real CK wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 7:09 am Hiring the oldest coach in NFL history was a foolish move from the start. As for the one's who we did not hire? Who knows what went down during the interview process. I am not a guy who cares overly about the guys we pass up, I care about the guy in the building

Not to mention, we have no idea who might have said, "thanks, but I'm not interested." Players or coaches.Attyla wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 7:51 am we can agree to disagree, I watched the tape from camp and I saw a very active and sharp guy out there. as for Smith, he is pressing and it is costing us.
