The 49ers sure looked bad vs. the Broncos, and they are supposed to be much better than their poor showing last season. For us, the offensive line seems to be rising to the top of concerns.

Just don’t say Baltimore is trash, definitely set off some triggers several months ago

It is though. I grew up there. The only area that’s remotely decent is around the harbor where it was revitalized. Both stadiums are there also.

So, here is my take

Winners:
Offensive line, it looked a lot better for the starting group, backups are trash though
QB1. Geno looked solid vs a good D
TE1,2. That group should concern teams, we are set for a long time
RB1, Jeanty some solid runs, good TD (but almost lost it, he needs to hold onto the ball, that could have been called back)
Crosby, not only a great player, but the interview was also great
Coaching: Game plan was solid, but you can only coach up what you got
ST, damn we are in midseason form there, every aspect was killing it. And we have a nasty gunner I think
AI ball spotting, I like it, took too long though
WR, fellas, we took shots at this position all season but they were grabbing balls all day and getting tough yards when the QB allowed it
Alumni, good to see some actual great Raiders enjoying the game

Losers:
QB2, that pick was just the most shit throw ever, not leading receivers, high throws, just a horrible player
QB3, his second game but I am not sparing anyone, too many high throws, he has the talent, he needs to settle down. And the RPO was crap
Defense: This unit is garbage beyond a few stars
Depth, we have none
Graham, we have talent at LB, but they were out of position all day
Oline: If we get an injury we are f[raiders_icon]cked
RB 2/3 if Jeanty goes down, we are likely f[raiders_icon]cked
NFL Network, while I liked the guys calling the game, the studio guys flat out suck, who was that old guy, he sucked ass
Eric Dickerson. He played one season for us, sucked the entire time and they gave that f[raiders_icon]cker face time as an alumni?? Give that to the guys who earned it


Overall a good improvement game over game, but our third game we need to see even more.

You can shear a sheep many times, but you can only skin him once. LV has forgotten this. Just 10 years ago I could get a steak dinner on the strip for 10 bucks, comps galore, free rooms on and on. All gone. In order to get something you have to give something, this is the law of human nature. They charge for freaking parking! When it really changed was after covid. I use to go for the shows and food (never gambled) but they won't ever get a penny from me ever again.

You just don't seem to grasp basic business sense. They charge that much because then can. Hotels are at or near capacity if they are charging the max.Its hard to get a room or flight cheap anymore because they are sold out. They don't care one bit if your cheap ass ever comes back to be honest.

Inner Harbor is flat out nice. Area around Camden Yards is actually pretty damn nice. I stay in that area when we visit DC because you don't want to stay in DC ever, visit, yes, stay, f[raiders_icon]ck no.

2. There’s going to be heavy rotations along the defensive line

As the Raiders work to try to replace what they would have gotten from Christian Wilkins, it looks like they plan to mix up their D-line alignment frequently. They used several groupings during their first defensive series against the 49ers.

The Raiders opened with Maxx Crosby and Adam Butler at defensive end, alongside Thomas Booker and Jonah Laulu at defensive tackle. Later in the possession, there were plays where Butler rotated inside to defensive tackle and Tyree Wilson came off the bench to play defensive end. Then Wilson rotated inside to defensive tackle and Malcolm Koonce replaced him at defensive end.

That rotational strategy continued for the starters’ three series. Booker played 26 snaps, Wilson played 22, Koonce played 16, Butler and Laulu played 15 and Crosby played 12. The adjustments were made depending on down-and-distance as defensive coordinator Patrick Graham toggled between prioritizing defending the run, getting after the quarterback or having a balanced front. That’s something that will likely continue into the season.

4. Laki Tasi shows his long-term potential

It’s rare that a player from the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program makes the roster, but a great example is Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro offensive tackle Jordan Mailata. Despite having no high school or college experience, the former Australian rugby player was drafted in the seventh round by the Eagles in 2018 and made the roster. Tasi, who also grew up in Australia playing rugby, looks to Mailata for inspiration.

“‘Wherever you go to, whatever team you go to, make sure you work hard and just prove people wrong, because that’s how you win in life,’” Tasi remembered Mailata telling him at an IPP camp. “Now that he won the Super Bowl, that just proves a lot from all the international players that can go through the NFL. Hopefully, one day I can do that.”

The Raiders initially intended for Tasi to play defensive tackle, but Carroll approached the 6-foot-6, 373-pounder in OTAs and told him he’d be switching to offensive line. He’d never played football before signing with the Raiders. He’s incredibly raw and it’s hard to overstate how early on he is in the process of learning the game.

“It’s been really scary for me,” Tasi said. “The whole playbook with the offense is just crazy to me, especially with the numbers and the words that you’ve got to know and assignments you’ve got to go through on the field. … I was struggling at the start, but then I had the voice to speak up to the coaches and say, ‘Hey, I need help with the plays.'”

Tasi’s unique combination of size, athleticism, strength and physicality makes his upside intriguing. He’s gotten most of his work in guard, but playing tackle remains on the table. As he continues to develop, the Raiders could try to stash him on the practice squad; per NFL rules, the Raiders would be awarded a 17th practice-squad spot they can use for him as an IPP player. To get there, though, the Raiders would have to release him, which would subject him to waivers and open the door for him to get claimed by another team. That’s a factor they will have to consider.
