Figured it is best to start a new official thread around Kubiak being our HC as the other one was built up so much around the search. His introduction presser is at 11 PST today.

As soon as they identify Hondo as the next questioner, I groan.

This feels like a "we have a lot of work to do" introduction, instead of an old boys' club patting each other on the back ceremony from last year.

I noticed the same. Very different than previous pressers. Almost painfully honest. When asked how to bring stability to a franchise that has big turnover:
""I gotta earn the right to coach the whole season"

He specifically mentioned having a cup of coffee with Maxx this morning. Hopefully, he's able sell Maxx on his vision for the team.

The answer how he never calls a game by himself, it involves Qb coach, pass game coordinator, run game coordinator...
I doubt Chip and "run game coordinator" Brendon Carrol ever communicated during a game.
Night and f[raiders_icon]cking day-- and now we see how a competent team is operated

There's a post game presser show? Glad our away team fans' money is going to something!
Spytek just shed light on Brian Stark and his crew being in on the interviews. I think it's really cool that the only dudes involved in the coach hiring process were Spytek's football personnell guys. Scouts interviewing coaches.

Josh McDaniels presser..Um you know. um um you know, we don't need a good oline if we throw the ball right umm you know..
Kubiak, "We're going to about that work, we got alot of work to do in evaluating players we need to get in here and (in the draft and FA) to build a great team. I have to earn my job every day.."

"We're not here to cash checks today." For an underspoken guy, he nailed this presser. Honestly made me feel stupid for buying into any of the previous guys. Really hope things are different this time. It feels different.

There's no need for us to know anything today on Maxx, and no need for any decisions today. But I'd say that Maxx not being at the PC is a sign of what Maxx wants to happen. Not that I care what Maxx wants, as long as we're doing what's right for the team.

Do we know what players were there?

From my recollection he only mentioned the players he was specifically asked about. Jeanty, Bowers and Crosby. Jeanty and Bowers were there. It sounds like Maxx was not even though he was in the building.

It's fair to note that Maxx has been at previous HC pressers. Not sure if I'm misremembering, but he's been to most of the recent ones.

He has been at the ones I recall. But, given the media firestorm that surrounds him and given how quiet he's been on his future, he might want to avoid this one. Plus, the less he says to the media at this PC, the more listeners he might get for his shitty podcast.

Just my opinion, but I felt Maxx not being there was better because he knew he would be the elephant in the room. Like Mark, I think it was better both of them were not there and the focus was mainly on Kubiak.
Kubiak had coffee with Maxx earlier and said he had a great conversation and wants him to be part of the team going forward — that’s all we need to know at this time.
