‘26 Offseason Roster Moves

Raiders Reserve/Future Signings

“The Raiders announced they have sighed Chris Collier RB, McClendon Curtis G, Jamin Davis LB, Phillip Dorsett II WR, Treven Ma'ae DT, Joshua Miles T, Albert Okwuegbunam Jr. TE, Brenden Rice WR, Layden Robinson G, Justin Shorter WR, Laki Tasi OL, and Dalton Wagner T to reserve/futures deals.

The most notable player from that list is offensive lineman Laki Tasi. The Raiders are big on him as he is learning the game of football. Tasi is from the International Player Pathway Program. He is developing and could be a huge factor for the Silver and Black in the future. The other one is linebacker Jamin Davis. Davis is a former first-round pick by the Commanders in 2021.”

I'd throw about 20-30 mill at two new starting guards. David Edwards LG from the Bills, and Wyatt Teller RG from the Browns would be my preferred optons.

Then you give George Pickens his payday. Guaranteeing Mendoza has a bonafide #1 WR in addition to an elite TE and talented young RB.

On defense I'd love for us to poach John Franklin-Myers from the Broncos. 5-7 sack a year interior pass rusher. And we need to be aggresive in finding a solution to our LB'er issue. I'm partial to Devin Bush, but it's a great year to be in the market for a LB'er there are plenty of options.
Love your plans but Pickens scares the hell out of me.

He doesn't come without risk, for sure. But the production and talent is clear to me and he's the only elite option that might become available. Most likely he won't make it out of Dallas, but we should be making that kind of splash imo in order to capitalize on the rookie QB contract.

My apologies and you are probably right.
But man to hear this for so long, it's like certain words become unspeakable until we become good.
Offseason will always be critical, it's a critical offseason for the Chiefs.

Well if I compare this offseason to others, you'd clearly have to go back to Jamarcus. We had the 1st overall, but we were 13th in cap space, didn't have a GM, Al was still in the building. My logic in emphasizing this offseason is that we haven't really been in this kind of position for as long as I can remember. The conditions will never be better for us to see this losing spell finally end. Simply phoning in Mendoza's name won't be enough, we need the accompanying transactions to be good but there's finally a legitimate reason to be hopeful, and not just lying to ourselves that things will finally be different.

The part that changes everything is Mendoza.
Just sayin, as an mature male, these lines get me and I still do it myself to.

Hmmm I see McClendon Curtis who we brought in as a UDFA a few years ago than the Seahawks signed him off of our practice squad is back. I remember he seemed to have a lot of potential but looks like he hasn't really caught on anywhere. Knocked around with the Seahawks, Cardinals, Giants and back here again.

So, are we going to keep Patrick Graham? Personally I wouldnt mind if we got rid of him, it will be year 5 for him I think if we keep him. The defense is still below average after year 4, which is awful because continuity was supposed to be a good thing. He doesnt seem to be able to coach rookies up as well as I think he should. He needs to be in the box to call the games properly and thats not good for a team that needs their coaches on the field for motivation. The inmates seem to be running the asylum over there as well. the Chandler Jones thing was a big mistake, the Christian Wilkins thing was a big problem also. He should have noticed these things and corrected them before they spiraled out of control like they did. I could be wrong also, it wouldnt be the first or last time.

I’m hoping for a youth movement across the board.

The first thing a new head coach should do is evaluate the current staff and make changes where needed.

This thread appears to be redundant with the prior, existing thread on free agency and the thread on a new coach. Also, it is labeled as the 26-27 season, which cannot be right. The 2027 season is for another day -- or am I getting dementia and cannot follow threads....

I think week 18 bleeds over to 2027

True, and Week 18 of 2027 will bleed over into 2028. Aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves? I guess we could talk about free agency in early 2027 and the 2027 draft too. Perhaps the thread title could be "2026-27-28 Roster Moves" and talk about free agents we don't even know exist yet and same with potential draftees. That would accelerate my dementia.

IMO it's the 2026 offseason, and this thread will have been superseded long before 2027 hits so the 2027 reference is more confusing than necessary. This thread could be combined with the FA thread I suppose - this one started as actual roster moves, which were just the not-so-exciting futures contracts. But it's evolved into an FA discussion. Personally I'm not that focused on any of this at the moment because the coaching staff isn't in place yet.
