I do think that contract also scared Kubiak bad enough to make us look even better

Pete has nothing to do with Kubiak. Without Mendoza, he passes on us. So it is the Cowboys who paid us off, not Pete.

Really happy with the Kubiak news.

I’ve been as hard as anyone on Brady and his role with the team, but I do think that he, and Spytek, gave us the legitimacy to swing for the better coaching options.

Had the Raiders beat the Giants in week 16 and lost on Mendoza, pretty sure week one would have counted..

misread it, weird phrasing. Jumping back in forth from a year that does not matter to a year when all the chips fell just right, after quoting me where I am saying the Cards are circling our game for some kind of revenge got a little confusing.

In either case, they can circle the game, I don't honestly give a f[raiders_icon]ck. I actually hope it is late in the year after Mendoza gets up to speed so we can kick their asses, but I also hope they win enough games prior to that to be out of several of the QBs that will be coming out next year.

I am back to hating every team that we play again instead of a lack of caring.

You can't block a guy going from a non-coordinator position on another staff to a coordinator position. Anything else can be blocked (assistant HC is a nice title but doesn't count like moving to a coordinator position). I agree that they would likely let Dennison leave - he's like part of the Kubiak family at this point.

Benton, Janocko & Dennison seem to be his guys as they’ve been with him a few places

I could see a Janocko being promoted to the OC role as he has been with Kubiak at all 3 of his OC jobs same as Dennison but i can’t see Seattle making much noise over Dennison

Benton for me is THE most important possible in all of this for me, i think we need him the most as he is an elite OL coach who also knows how to get the run game going

Then again unless they promote from within then we might be able to get whoever we want as most new OC’s will want there own guys

Karl Scott the Seattle DB coach is a name that i keep seeing for the DC role

I finally feel i can get more excited about us moving forward as a franchise (unless we some how screw it up)

And I will eat some crow here. I am always happy when the Raiders win, however one more win and we would have been on a vastly different trajectory going into 2026.

Do you think they’ll keep Murray? It’s a huge dead cap hit this season, but it’s a one year thing and they’re not winning anytime soon anyway.

Cards got themselves into the same situation with Murray that we were in with Carr, maybe even more so. Decent QB that can win with a strong team around him, but paid like a franchise QB, so not enough cap room to assemble the necessary roster.

I think it's worse. Even with all his flaws Carr would at least put in the work and didn't have to have a call of duty clause in his contract

Cards are a mess but so were we. After week 8, I had given up hope that we could figure it out. One by one the best college QBs were falling apart, we were stuck with a coach who thought he had it figured out but did not, Brady was f[raiders_icon]cking up everything and it looked like our goofy owner was going to take back more control.

Then we found out that Brady was far less involved than people were sayiing Mendoza ascended and Carroll kept loosing. The result since the end of the year have been astounding. We got the most ready QB out there, we got the coach, we have a minority owner that put together that coaching hire and our goofy owner apparently has a rival for most goofy hair in the league. If any one of those things had not happened, the other pieces would not have, starting with Carroll struggling, and Mendoza winning it all and declaring, now Kubiak and f[raiders_icon]ck that ugly hairstyle.

I am in a pretty damn good mood.

They are already circling the Vegas vs Arizona game for some kind of revenge. And yea, if we stuck it to any team good, it was the Cardinals. We got the QB and the coach that fanbase really really wanted.
