JPJ went on IR in week 10 on November 11th for a left ankle injury.

Kolton went on IR week 5 with a high-ankle sprain and a hairline fracture.

Some needed time off for both.
Much more so, and deservedly for Miller who's entering the final quarter of his career.

I think both will be ready to go if they kept in rehab training.
Some players id expect to show up in a boot come OTAs. But not these two.

Since they don’t have the fallback option of the tag, they’d probably extend him with a year left on the contract wouldn’t they? (As long as he’s kicking ass of course).

There will certainly be considerations. At the time when his contract is due, we will also be preparing for the Mendoza second deal within a couple years and that will play into it.

It seems all the contracts are connected to developing draft picks for replacing this years fa haul as those contracts are all for 3 years.

yip. Rookie contracts are 4 years. Its in year 3 that teams are likely to rip up the remaining 4th year and extend a worthy player.

These small decisions, that are often missed, is what gives me confidence with the GM and staff.

Hopefully Mendoza's contract is ripped up (a nice problem to have). Likewise, hopefully we develop a center in a couple of years and move the cap savings from Linderbaum to help pay for Mendoza.

A couple of things about Orlovsky's take:

1. He's made himself a guest on whatever show he wants, because agreeing with consensus is less interesting than going against the grain. He's managed to make himself relevant in the draft discussion, when I don't think he was ever relevant before.

2. I find this interesting: "Dan Orlovsky says that he texted 12–15 GMs/decision-makers that Alabama QB Ty Simpson is the best QB in the draft, and only 2 disagreed." Does that mean that 10-13 agreed, or that they ignored his text like I would ignore it if SFRF texted me about pee troughs? It's interesting that he never said if even a single decision-maker agreed.

I started talking about Linderbaum as my favorite FA target early last season. This might be my favorite FA signing I've ever seen..... so if for some reason it doesn't work I might give up on FA forever. I think he's gonna be a game changer for this team though - the player and the fit just seem so right.
