Do we need an OC/DC thread or do we just keep that talk in the Pete Carrol thread?

I remember specifically when Dennis Allen got the HC job in Oakland, several of the candidates he wanted for OC/DC were blocked, he had a helluva time assembling staff.

The rules changed a few years ago and teams can no longer block a coach who isn't a coordinator from taking an interview for a coordinator position, or from taking a coordinator job.

Don’t think you can ever have too many quality pass rushers and I’d try and keep him at a reasonable cost. Might be a case where, after seeing some success with us this last season, other teams start beating that drum, too.

I’d be careful what the offer to him would be so as not to tie us to it for long term if he reverts. Signing bonus with heavy incentives. Make him bet on himself.

Chaisson might see his best opportunity to cement future value as being with the team where he finally fulfilled some of his potential. Especially with the same DC and Dline coach returning.

But a couple years ago, they changed the rules same with the fact that coordinators are under the Rooney rule now.

So getting both back would really help continue to build up the line.

I also am just tired of finding solid to good productive players and letting them walk.

Other teams might also doubt his value after a pretty limited period of successful play so we might be willing to pay as much as anyone.

He reminded me of Koonce and his breakout year, as well. And he's healthy, which is a good insurance policy for Koonce's return from rehabbing that knee injury.
