Bosa has an ACL - trade Maxx to the 49ers?

Someone posted in a thread after our loss that we should trade Maxx Crosby for a bunch of (needed) draft picks, thereby increasing our odds of picking at or near the top of the draft in 2026. As we all know, the 49ers just lost a key player on their defense -- after Fred Warner he is their most important defensive player -- and their d-line is not that deep and full of young players. And, the 49ers are in first place in the NFC West and will likely be battling for a playoff spot this season.

At first blush, I am against trading the best player we have drafted in what 25 years. But, in my frustration with the whole damn thing, I am thinking about this. The trade deadline is early November, so you likely will want to see if Carroll and staff can get this bad act together, but unless we start looking a lot better, there will be talk of trades and even, gasp, "tanking." Thoughts?

Nobody is ever going to say Jihad Ward was a world beater, but he was crap for us, leaves, immediately improves. Arden Key is crap for us, leaves, immediately gets better.

Maybe Guydon was right, maybe the curse of the old man is a thing. If only he had done that deal to build the stadium at Hollywood Park, we might be talking about our dynasty spanning decades. Dammit dude, all they wanted was for you to bring on a second team.
Deablo blew up for the Falcons as he was their best defensive player prior to recent injury. Little doubt that Wilson will play better on another defense. Maybe Graham just isn’t good at developing young players?

I'd rather have Maxx than empty draft picks. I'd rather have a garbage team with Maxx than a garbage team without him, so long as he actually wants to stay here.

He carries the real spirit of the franchise, the one that's been buried for decades.

Also, I wouldn't advocate for being proud of anything

I’m not buying what they let out to the public that Maxx isn’t on the trade block. I’ve read and heard this too many times and watched the opposite occur with different teams / players.

I don’t get all the in house BS bickering and belittling. It’s bad enough watching us suck for this long, it’d sure be nice to see us try and find a little common ground instead of always trying to prove we were right.

I took a break for a bit because of it but still check in from time to time. It gets old.
Sometimes I think Matt Foley could do a better job..

It seems most players(FA or Draft picks) play worse once they become Raiders, even coaches it appears. I think when you are a loser for going on a generation that it runs deep in the psyche of the organization. I really don’t know what the answer is but I don’t think any one player can turn this around.

It does and then I have to check myself for getting salty at times. There are some good contributors on this forum and then you have your Jerry Springer candidates.

The perpetual rebuild is getting old, it's been old. The Raider brand has been shit for so long I am not sure trying to identify with old days can be relevant any more. Only difference with other inept teams reaching back is that our highlight's are in color.

Even if we back track to the first Gruden era, it's been two decades. Almost as much time has lapsed between our expansion season and last Super Bowl winner in the mean time we have been a 4-12 team for twenty years.

Maybe it's time for clean slate and rebrand. Browns sucked, went to Baltimore and became a team with a completely different identity and then won the Super Bowl that had been eluding the franchise four years later. They have been one of the NFL most consistent franchises since their inception.

Meanwhile the Brown's still suck.

Not sure the mystique of the Silver & Black will ever be reclaimed. Being out of the hunt before November, once again is depressing.

Then you have WSU perpetually Couging it. LoL, at least you are part Husky.

There is no right answer to fixing the team. Trade Maxx or keep Maxx, there is no right answer to this as well. There are only opinions that can be debated. But from everything I have seen we are not trading him. So, unless that changes everyone can just go about their business of carrying their torches to burn the place to the ground.

As for me, I will enjoy a weekend where we do not lose. Making my jambalaya tomorrow so good eats and football on the TV with zero drama

There is not a correct answer.

However, there are examples of Fortune 500 companies, NCAA programs and professional franchises that have gone about turning things around in a similar way. It always begins with changing the organizational culture. Robert Kraft being a successful business man understood this. He also knows well enough to stay in his lane. Jerry Jones does not.

A young coach with a lot of energy, tenacity and a winning pedigree coupled with a GM that can work with him and has an eye for talent. They would need a lot of latitude, a lot of latitude and a QB.

Why would any of them even be remotely interested in coming to this shit show? I liked Ben Johnson he wasn't having it.

I thought Dennis Allen could fit that criteria, didn't work out but...I am not so sure Mark was not angling from day one to bring back Gruden behind the scenes. I remember Gruden doing laps around the stadium practically doing the Lambeau leaping the Black Hole prior to a game politicking for his job when Jack was here. Not sure anyone could have been successful under those circumstances as Mark had bought into the Gruden myth.

Pete has been successful at every juncture of his career save the Jets and the Raiders. Two franchises that have been chronic dumpster fires. That speaks volumes.

Until the organizational culture changes nothing changes.

Lol. That spirit is still buried if you haven't noticed. Keeping Maxx holds the team and himself hostage.
