The Raiders won their very first superbowl running a 3-4. They actually ran it without backup D-linemen.

Half the league doesn't have close to optimal talent to run their schemes. Do what you wanna do anyway and build toward the vision.

So who's are NT? Pegues? Wilson and Butler or Booker are the ends?

Our opening day roster is going to look very different from today so who knows yet

I was listening to a podcast yesterday and heard something about Leonard that I had not heard before - I think it was from Lincoln Kennedy. He said that the Raiders offered Leonard the opportunity to interview for the DC job and he didn't just say yes. He said yes, "but...... this is what I need for talent to get this done". I like that he didn't just jump at the chance and that he had demands for what it would take to build a defense. So the additions on defense might be reflecting what he was looking for.

...other than continuity, I have zero doubt that this team will be better right out of the gate. ...whether that translates to early winds, is another story, though I guess it depends on who we have up early on the schedule.
