Back on topic, I haven't seen any updates on him so hopefully he shows up for training camp out of the boot.

Supposedly if he had the clean up surgery (looks like he did) the timeline is 8-12 weeks. Worst case he had it in mid-June which could put him out to the middle of September.

I think regardless he won't be out there fully until mid-August (best case).

Just need him off the list before cut day.

Highly doubt he's rushed back after the complications. Hate to see it.

Hopefully he can come back in October and still be an impact player. Not the fault of the Raiders or the player but this signing so far has been a bust unfortunately which is too bad because he's a very good player when healthy.

This is not surprising TBH. I said it a while back that I had something similar (if not the same). Everyone was panicking because of his boot. The boot is not something to panic over. The announcement of additional surgery or him crutches with the boot is a totally different story. Good player/Good signing/bad luck.

What a disaster this signing has been. Incredibly unfortunate because Wilkins is a special player. There's still something like 19 mill in dead money next year if we cut him, so hopefully we let him recover and try to salvage the back end of his contract. Maybe he'll play well in 2026 and restructure his 27-28 years to try to get some value out of him. It's just a disaster all around.

we could trade him after June 1st never year and the hit could be manageable. But I do not want to trade him, I want him to get healed up and return to form.

He has two years unguaranteed in 27 & 28, If he comes back and produces at all we would restructure some of that into guaranteed money to keep him and see if he makes a difference. Though he'll be pretty old by then, it's possible we never really see him play more than a handful of games for us.

He will be back for a 3rd season because of the guaranteed money he's getting paid alone. I look at it this way. This season is probably going to have some ups and downs as the team is still deficient talentwise at multiple positions as the rest of the division simply has deeper rosters. I expect season 2 of the new regime with another draft and free agency where this team can take a big step forward and having Wilkins healthy and ready to go will be huge for the team.

The sad thing is he got injured doing a celebration...typical Raiders WTF!

Trade him. I don't dislike him.... I really wanted to see him play for the Raiders. It just seems like we could get 'something" for him that could help us. Hev isn't going to do us any good on the PUP list. I know..... he can play next year... maybe? Some times, you just have to realize that things don't come to fruition. IMO... this is one of those times.

Wilkins being put on the list means nothing (and expected). Dude will be playing this season. Chill...........
