Gutsy win against a tough defense. Fernando stood in there and got it done. He is a QB that can execute in the red zone as opposed to just between the 20's, throw completions in the second half of games and close out a lead.

No folding into a fetal possession and no chucking it in the dirt on 4th and goal. I am excited. Plus it was a fun game to watch.

Now let's get the kid an OL...

Refs are “letting them play” until it’s a game deciding call later.
That line "letting them play" always cracks me up. It's code for, they are letting guys cheat. Until as you said, when they decide we want to call one for some convoluted reason. Both those DB's for Miami (#24 and 29) were auditioning for the NFL Joey Porter look a like with all the holding, grabbing and pass interference at every turn.

Can you imagine if they called those? As it was they were given the green light to hold all they wanted to. Of course the coach told them the refs are "letting you play" so hold every play and the outcome is Mendoza is going to have a tougher go of it because of that. That back shoulder ball he threw to Becker just before the 2 minute warning, despite what Kirk Herbstreet said, was on point while he was being mugged. Gotta believe if the refs didn't "let them play" and forced those DB's to cover or get called for a penalty he would have thrown for over 300 yards.

I love his interviews. Basically calling Miami out for not even letting him walk on. Been saving that comment for the right moment.

The thing that also impressed me was his patience. He dropped back and waited for the DE to get upfield rather than just take off right away. That takes serious balls to sit there and know they are coming and not panic and wreck the play by taking off too early.
Great observation. I saw that too. He looked like a running back! He then stopped and started, then dove outstretched for the goal line. Very impressive.

Carr would have fumbled it out the end zone. Last time I ever bring Carr up. Onward and upward.

Love Mendoza, should be a Raider, watched the game, watched Indiana destroy every other team in the playoff, Miami down by only 10 at half, no real offense in first half. 2nd half another story, I might be biased being a Canes fan, but Miami lost this game imo. But the clock says zero, Indiana won, congrats. Now come to the nation Fernando

Miami has two top 10 NFL draft defensive ends and a monster at DT bringing the heat all game..just crazy work how Mendoza handled the pressure. Carr goes fetal, Geno throws 6 pics, Jimmy G never leaves the strip club down on Southbeach..

Miami played tough and inspired. They had a boulder on their shoulder pretty obviously
