Figured it is best to start a new official thread around Kubiak being our HC as the other one was built up so much around the search. His introduction presser is at 11 PST today.

It's going to take a lot of work and dedication to right this thing.
I would have focused greatly on a candidates dedication trait.

Seattle should give us back our 3rd rounder for taking Klint off their hands

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports the Raiders wanted a head coach who “mirrored” Tom Brady’s leadership qualities.

Brady, an announcer for Fox Sports, was very much involved in the team’s search for a new head coach after the Raiders fired Pete Carroll after one season. They landed on former Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who apparently, like Brady, is “hard-working,” creating “a high level of accountability and discipline, and could lead. And the leadership part didn’t necessarily mean the guy had to be a wake-up-the-echoes speaker.” That the Raiders are building the team in Brady’s image is no surprise given hi success over 23 NFL seasons. That Brady is so intimately involved with shaping an NFL franchise while working as an announcer is another issue entirely.

What do you think their return policy would be on Geno?

I think we had 5 games last season where we were one score away from winning or drawing.
It’s those close type games where I’m hoping to see some impact of better coaching and ideology.
Appreciate we don’t get the same teams to play next season but, I think if we can turn a few of those Ls into Ws it would be real progress.

Obvs what happens in the draft and FA are gonna be very influential.

I am tempering my expectations the first year simply because we are going to likely have a rookie under center. If we go 1-16 I am certainly going to be surprised but likewise if we go 10-6 I will be equally surprised. I am actually just hoping that we look like an NFL team that is further along in the rebuild than year one even though it will be year one of the rebuild.

Such a great hire (on paper). Hopefully he pans out. We constantly see time and time again what a good offensive minded head coach can do with a young QB to elevate their games.

I’m pretty sure it was an “all sales final” policy with the Seahawks laughing all the way to a Super Bowl.

I really like the Coaches we have hired, the only one I question is Leonard, and I think that's just because he is from the previous regime...hopefully he can turn shit into gold! It's all looking good, but I won't slurp the koolaid until I see some results on the field.

Agreed. I question Leonard bc that vacancy was the most important hire after Kubiak was hired. The unknown worries me but let's see what he's got.
