I still can't get over just how bad the offense has been this season. I never thought I would ever see an offense as bad as the B&B offense but here we are in 2025 witnessing history repeat. There truly seems to be no limit to how bad this organization can get.

yesterday, the offense was a Pickett issue. Yes the line is horrible. Yes the game calling was terrible. Yes, the run game was miserable. But two sacks yesterday was Pickett either not being able to process fast enough to go through his progressions and thus hanging onto the ball too long or simply just hanging onto the ball too long. If you know your line is weak, you have to make those decisions much faster and he was not doing that. It was so bad that Brock simply dropped on that he normally pulls in. It was so bad yesterday that the team had the ball for 20 minutes. We got killed in TOP. Our third down efficiency was horrible. Hurts threw 15 passes, connecting on 12 of them and yet threw three TD's. Pickett threw for 15 connected passes and got a goose egg. And yes, it is absolutely on Pickett that we did not score a single point. He had help of course but I am consistent when blaming the QB for the lion's share of responsibility for the results. Pickett and Carroll were the reason we lost.

The line, the defense, the run game, and the receivers? They contributed but really this is a leadership void. Top to bottom.

Pickett was bad but we have seen Smith take a lot of sacks where he held the ball far too long. Clearly there's an issue of receivers not getting separation and offensive play calling not scheming enough open receivers. We know defenses caught on to Kelly's passing concepts but it's clear that Olson isn't having a lot of luck either. Clearly the team is going to have to dip into free agency to bolster the offensive line but they may have to sign a veteran WR as well in the range of a Chris Olave.

There are too many good players and coaches on the Chiefs with self-respect and pride to lose out. Anyway they have drafted good players year after year being slotted low down in the draft. They have good scoring and personnel evaluators. We don’t.

Aside the odd player or two, I think all would agree we’re pretty poor on both sides of the ball. In my mind we have so many needs and will take a number of years to get right, so just focus on one side this off-season.

My view is go offense first. And there’s no point drafting a potential franchise QB without addressing the line at the same time. As much as possible, stack our incomings (whether draft or FA) with QB, O-line and maybe WR. If it means little to no defense then so be it. That can be dealt with the year after once we (hopefully!) have at least a functioning offense.

We are so far off it right now, that (IMO), if we try to spread across both sides of the ball this off-season, we will half ass it and prolonged the agony
