I have been a follower of this team since the 1960s. Watched some amazing teams. Those Monday nights where we were unbeatable. Amazing teams, and amazing wins.

We haven’t done shit for over 20 years. This is the biggest joke in the f[raiders_icon]cking league. I lived in Boston for 18 years through the Patriots being basically Super Bowl contenders every year and everyone asked me why don’t just change teams I said some Raiders fan we don’t change teams.

Well, I’m not changing teams, but I see no point in watching this shit anymore, does this ruin the day for you already? The text are coming in from my friends same thing every week every month every year

All I can say is, I’m glad the NHL is back

Good luck gentlemen maybe I’ll come back after that shithead piece of crap that owns the team sells it but until then I’m done with this f[raiders_icon]cking team. I wasted too much of my f[raiders_icon]cking life worrying about these f[raiders_icon]cking crap players. Bullshit coaches bullshit moves.

In July 2018, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden held a fan appreciation event at Ricky's that was attended by over 500 fans and featured Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie, Raiders team owner Mark Davis and several Raiders legends.

Ricky's owner Ricky Ricardo died in November 2020 at the age of 75 and the restaurant had been closed for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign was launched in 2020 to save Ricky's.

The original Ricky's was opened by John Ricardo Sr. in 1946 and moved to San Leandro, California in 1960. Ricky's reopened in May 2023 under the name Rickey’s Sports Lounge with new owner Ramonn Smith.

So, I spent some time with this, reading what everyone is writing and I figured it out, I think.

Hope. Deadly thing if dashed. Some of you all had hope that the offseason finally saw us in the right direction. Good for you. You may be right after all. But, some of you all forgot the second component of hope. Patience. We just changed up everything again. For those who said to yourself, Geno is reuniting with his coach, that was only partially true. He still had to figure out a new coordinator with new terminology and new personnel. Jeanty went from being a big man to now being a big man among bigger men. And everyone had to deal with change, massive painful change....again. I admit, I thought we would win 8 or so games, my low expectation was 4 and that was if something tragic happened like a key injury. I too forgot the cardinal rule. A total overhaul takes time.

That is not to say they are not making mistakes. They are. And that is not to say that Geno is living up to his best years, he is not. But we also know that Geno took over after sitting for a while. He did not have that this time. It appears he is one of those guys who is a slow learner.

Are we heading in the right direction but losing so that we can eventually win? Hell, I don't know. What I do know is I have been to this rodeo way too many times to let it mess with me and I am a far more patient man then I used to be. Even I am a bit perturbed by the slow start.

Bottom line is, the OP quit. Good for him, hope he finds happiness out there. I will poke my fun and eventually move onto another fun thing. But I still have hope, that ain't going to change. I am just better at seeing a loss and not care.

Simply put fans are fed up...at some point you have to stop making excuses for this franchise. Fans handle it differently...I'm at the point where I mostly find it comical & enjoy making fun of them now, but I definitely don't lose any sleep over them;)

not sure who is making excuses for this franchise, we debate things and everyone has their own takes. Some try to find a positive out of stuff and others try to isolate on the negatives. I don't see that as excuses, just their perspective. It is like Powers Johnson, he got a concussion and then did not practice for another week after so he did not play immediately. Some saw it as they were down on him and others took the reason given and accepted that as the reason. Neither is an excuse, just different lines of reasoning.

At the end of the day, an excuse might be "The NFL has it in for us" but even that is few and far between these days.

Yea.... I can't say I disagree. I just really thought it would be better than last year. Maybe it will in the end. It's just hard to watch at the moment. Like I said, I have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. All any of us get to see is what we see..... and a lot of us see an old/er coach that seems to defy logic when it comes to players and playing time. We see an OC that has a PREMIUM weapon in Jeanty.... but refuses to use him in the Red Zone. We see a DC that is supposed to be well respected in the league, but the defense sucks. We see a special teams coach that seems to not have a clue. It looks like a very incompetent coaching staff. I really don't think it is, but after a while you start to question your own thinking.

I have become jaded, so I have rolled myself in a ball, and protected myself like an armadillo. I knew this team wouldn’t be competitive, seeing they have too many holes, and the QB situation wouldn’t be fixed by trading for Geno Smith. They have some great individual talent like Jeanty, Bowers, and Crosby, but years of wasted draft picks and horrible FA signings has crippled this team. Taking Jihad Ward only to see Derrick Henry taken with the very next pick is just one gaffe of many the Raiders have made.

I have patience, but hope is just not there. Until they prove me wrong, I will be cautiously pessimistic.
