Do we need an OC/DC thread or do we just keep that talk in the Pete Carrol thread?

He was also OC for two teams that made the superbowl. The hope would he has learned some additional stuff in Miami after fizzling a bit in his career.

Turner is better than most of the guys being mentioned imo. Dude literally had the worst qbs in the nfl.

Yeah Turner really wasn't too smart in drafting QB's he should had really done his homework.

I'm pretty sure its Bevell for OC, Pat Graham for DC, Rob Leonard stays put. When Pete retires, Graham becomes HC, Leonard becomes DC.

Looks like that was the first season they missed the playoffs. Maybe the change the team felt they needed to shake things up?

It's great to have continuity but the longer you keep players, coaches and systems together the more plays are getting dissected by film study. Then it comes down to if you are just that much better at what you do compared to them stopping you.

I'd argue that every coordinator has at least 3 signature plays or their bread and butter plays that they rely on. Lynch was such a monster for Seattle, I'm sure losing him, played some significance in the offense sputtering that led to Bevil's dismissal.

I always look at whether the candidate is getting offers/interviews for the same position elsewhere in the league. Well... I don't see any other team in need of an OC even mentioning his name, let alone requesting or accepting an interview from him. That tells me it is just a comfort hire from our HC (if he indeed is the candidate of choice).

Declan Doyle and Josh McDaniel only interviewed with one team before they were hired.

Klint Kubiak, Thomas Brown, Marcus Brady and Grant Udinski are the only ones who have done an interview with more than one team. None have done interviews with more than two teams.

The idea could be you make him assistant HC with the understanding he will take over when Pete leaves.
If we are going to have continuity the Raiders have to have a succession plan.
If Graham is part of that plan, he doesnt have to go anywhere amd gets to learn a successful system for managing a football team

His offense was actually less productive than Getsy’s and both were less productive than Hardegree who’s not exactly a household name across the league.
