I’ve had so many mixed emotions about SB XXXVII and Barrett Robbins—But right now I feel a great loss. RIP BR..

He actually got shot by police a few years back during one of his mental episodes. But he survived that.

Really sucks to hear this, and even more sad that he didn't get his diagnosis until way later in life. If he had his demons under control sooner then he probably wouldn't have had all those issues during his career (i.e. the Super Bowl disappearance) that eventually led to him retiring.

Maybe so, but losing your starting center the night before the game certainly didn’t help.

Highly doubt that; Robbins was maybe the best center in the NFL that year and he was quite massive for center; I have no idea what would have happened if Robbins played in the superbowl but I do think it would have been a different score if he played

surprised he made it to that age with all his alleged issues but a huge loss nonetheless

Was another in a long long line of great Raiders centers and was arguably the best in the NFL at the time.

So sad his legacy is tied around his lowest point in his career.

Hopefully he is now at peace because he seemed to have none here.

Yeah… I disagree on that. We had the best ground game in the league, a dominant Oline, two Great RBs in Weatley and Garner. …and a 3rd pretty good relief back too. Randy Jordan, I believe. We had a MVP- good QB. Jerry Rice and Tim Brown, plus Porter too IIRC. We were by far the best Offense that year and one that was very balanced.

The Bucs had the #1 Defense against the PASS. A decent Dline featuring Warren Sapp. Great MLB in Brooks. And great Safety in Lynch. All around a great defense.

But evenly matched? We win. They had a weakness and it was vs a Power run game. I would go as far as giving us the win in 7 out of 10 games with both teams starting lineups. We would overpower them, plain and simple.

Barrett’s losing his mind caused the reversal in our having the upper hand. Pussy Bill Callahan was either dirty in trying to give his buddy Jon the game, or was just a stupid man. We’ll never know what caused it. But Barrett obviously never got past it.

Rest easy, Barrett. You were a great Center for the Raiders when we were last relevant. I appreciate your time in the colors.
