Just putting it out there. But Keenum had the best year of his career with Stefanski as his QB coach. He should be at the top of our list. Dude won playoff games for the Browns.

Stefanski was a two time coach of the year while coaching the freaking Browns! The Browns! I hold nothing bad that happened there against him because a lot of it was out of his control.

chucker wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 10:52 am I'm keeping an open mind on basically every coach. I think interviewing Vance Joseph is a solid move. I even want us to interview Flores, even though the parallels to McDaniels scare the shit out of me.

I think our interview list should include:
Joseph
Flores
Kubiak
Stefanski
Cignetti (don't know his contract situation though)
I’d add Jesse Minter to that list, i could see him being on a few list throughout the league

Kubiak is young (38) and has Seattle rolling with Darnold.

chucker wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 12:07 pm There are reports that Flores wants to leave Minnesota even if he doesn't get a HC job - there aren't any details, but it sounds like there's something wrong with some key relationships there. I guess if you interview him for HC, then he'd also be a possibility as a DC. Assuming he doesn't sue you for not hiring him as HC.
If they bring him in for an interview & gauge his interest in being a DC, I could see that plan

His players do seem to like/love and respect him and that's a big part of the job.

I just don't have a great feeling about Flores...seems like drama follows him for one reason or another. Just an uneasy feeling.

Good call. I forgot him. This is why I'm not actually involved in the coaching search, my attention to detail rivals that of Brennan Carroll.

Minter is my first choice with Marcus Brady as his OC but maybe keep Rob Leonard around as DC for some player familiarity

Both guys have good coaching tree ties

Those that say this isn't the best place to come, I'll argue it's the best place to come.

We have many coaches now fulfilling a very small part of their contract for full pay of the contract! What's not to like?

If you hit gold and are are successful with the Raiders great.
If not, get paid years worth of salary for a year or two of service.

It's a half joke, but the bottom line will always be money until you have true FU money, they won't say it, but they know this to.

Right now a lot of it is agents and journalists just throwing a lot of names out there to generate clicks and interest in their clients. Or repaying favours.

With the way Spytek talked yesterday about how the first pick and the coach steer the ship, I doubt that he's thinking of a defensive head coach. That would only make sense with a veteran QB.
